OIcontest #9: Theme
Enri's busy with school and I just got out for the semester, so guess who's running the next contest? *a chorus of groans rises up from those assembled* Yes, that's right, me! ~&hearts
So, enough intro, get to the theme already, right?
The theme is Scenery: Colorized. Each submitted icon must conform to three standards:
1.) The icon may not show people. This is actually kinda debatable: if there is a tiny person in silhouette on the horizon that should be fine. Make sure they're less than 25px tall and that they don't seem like the focal point of the icon. Animals are OK, as long as there's some kind of background in the image as well (A close-up of a cat's eye is unacceptable, but a cat in a tree is fine).
2.) The icon must be artificially colored somehow. This is a no-brainer considering the theme. You can colorize it however you want; some examples of acceptable submissions are under the cut.
3.) No text. This includes tiny text and text in other languages.
Submit your entries to this post (comments are screened), giving me both the image (the < img src = "" > tag) and the URL (http://www.____.__/_____.___). You may enter up to 2 icons.
Here's a tutorial (for Photoshop) for making bases look sharp and using simple coloring techniques. Also, here's a tutorial I made a while back that might help.
Some acceptable entries:

Cartoon images, comics, fine art, photographs, anime screencaps, movie stills: it's all fair game, as long as the icon features scenery rather than people.
This is another of the jcontest-style viewers-pick-the-winners contests. Everyone will vote on the winners via poll. There will only be a few categories this go-around: Best Show of Emotion, Most Creative, stuff like that.
Also, considering that the winners will be determined by popular vote and not by the designers alone, all entries should be new, and not posted anywhere until voting has ended. Also, considering the importance of icon anonymity on the voting post, userpics are not an acceptable place to host your entries. There are lots of free hosts: try Photobucket, for example. Any icons that are found posted elsewhere before voting ends will be disqualified.
Submit all entries in comments to this post (please, don't submit as a comment to another comment) by 7AM PST Sunday, June 18. Thanks!
