How big are the dressers / closets / and bookshelves? (In general, but for Burton in particular?) And do the desks actually have drawers?

Thanks.

The desks do in fact have drawers: a lap drawer, 2 side ones, and a faux drawer with a front but no sides, I guess intended as extra work space.

The closets in Burton are nicer than those in most other dorms, in that they are actually in the wall and have real doors from which you can hang things, as opposed to protruding into the room and having useless, sliding doors.

The dressers are maybe 3 feet long and about that tall (although I'm pretty bad at estimating sizes), with 3 or 4 long drawers, and they stand alone so you can move them around.

Sounds about right. Three drawers, yes. Two of equal size and one that is slightly larger.

The bookshelves are attached to the desks in most cases, but they are supposedly detachable. Supposedly.

As for the closets, yeah, some are big and some are huge. Mine were big, and my roommate and I enjoyed climbing in our closets, locking them from the inside, and screaming at each other (for no apparent reason).

Burton has closets large enough for two people to accidentally lock themselves inside of one while crammed full of clothes, a guitar, a suitcase, and other miscellaneous items.

But hey, what are the odds of that happening?

pretty good odds, i think. although security did say it had never happened before...

the bookshelves are fairly big. they have three fairly large shelves each. my roommate's is unattached, but mine is attached to the desk. i have more drawers than i know what to do with, for serious. last year i could fit about 7 people into my closet easily; this year it's probably more around 4 or 5, but that's still very large. don't forget that you also get desk chairs and a comfy chair. woohoo.

And by comfy, they mean uncomfy so you can read for about 30 minutes instead of 5 before falling asleep.

I figured out that even though they are a colossal waste of space, the misnamed comfy chairs are useful for sitting in while cross-legged. They're too deep for other types of sitting.
They need to just get rid of those chairs completely...

What about Dascomb? Does anybody know?

Desks in Dascomb are the same as any other dorm - 3 drawers. There's a bookshelf at the far end of the room on top of the windows where you can store your books and whatnot. The closets are sufficient with two shelves in the closet, two shelves on top of the closet, and then two shelves and/or an area to hang your jackets on the side of the closet. Additionally, there are three (or four?) dresser drawers.
