just to let you know, the burton bathrooms have been/are in the process of being remodeled. the showers are no longer open; there are four separate shower stalls per bathroom. the tile is completely new, as are the faucets. the western bathrooms are done, but the eastern are not. the downside: the water pressure with the new showerheads sucks.

Poo, the group showers were so roomy. Oh well.

no water pressure? damnit, that makes it all sucky. I'd rather the old way - the old showers were fantastic pressure

What?! This is an outrage. Is no one protesting? I say we organize a shower-out and refuse to shower until they return the showers to their group-shower beauty!

Wait, I don't actually go to Oberlin. Even better-- it can be an alumni action, and we will refuse to shower *or* give them any money! Ha ha!

Those showers contain some of my fondest memories of my first year. I doubt I'd have enjoyed Oberlin as much without gang showers, honestly. Hell, I'm trying to convince my roommates that we should have them at our house.

you know, i think they were oddly a big part of my experience as a first year at a "super liberal" college. a lot of other schools don't understand the beauty of showering with friends. it's a bit sad.

*tear* No more shower parties? What will I do when I'm upset and need to get wet and naked with good friends!?

I mean, not that I'm even living in Burton this year, but still, that shouldn't stop me from showering there....

well, there's still one really large stall, so i guess we can shower together there.

What about Fairchild's gang showers? Are they still intact?

i'm not sure. as far as i know, there hasn't been any sort of renovation going on in fairkid. therefore, i'll tentatively say that yes, i believe they are alive.

more than anything else at Oberlin I miss the Burton showers. soap wasn't really necessary; the water pressure could blow off all the grime in half a minute.
