incompletes
Well, as usual I managed to screw myself over with finals. I was wondering if anyone knew the details of incompletes. How do I get one of those? DO i need my professor's permission or are they required to give us one if we need it providing that we haven't already used our two or three? Maybe this doesn't make any sense. I'm sorry, i can't think any longer. Any help or info would be appreciated.
thanks!

I think professors are usually fine with them. Go to the dean of studies to pick up the form (Peters 205). Get your profs signature. Turn it back in before the scheduled final. And you get until June 13th to finish your work.
good luck.

You need to hurry. The office of the dean of students is closed for the day already, but in order to get an incomplete you have to get the form and fill it out before the time of the scheduled final for the class. (I believe this applies to all kinds of incompletes) You probably need your professor's signature too. 205 in peters.

I just declared one. If it's emergency medical, you need a bunch of signatures, including people from the counseling center and/or doctor's office, as well as documented proof that you're recieving/have recieved some kind of medical treatment. If it's academic, you just need your professor's signature, and you need to turn it into the Office of the Dean of Studies before the final for that class. The office closed at 4:30 today, but will be open tomorrow, though I'm not sure what time.

You might also check out what the Dean of Studies homepage has to say-- I found it quite helpful. And, yes, you do need to hurry.

for an educational, you need the prof's sig. Most prof's are good about granting them, but they aren't *required* to give an eduational incomplete. Get the form from Peters 205, and then find the prof. It must be declared before the time of the class final.

There are also emergency incompletes for medical and other emergencies, but you need a doctor or shrink's documentation and a meeting with the Dean of Studies for those.
