ANONYMOUS THREAD
I love the anonymous thread, but during finals, I never have time to keep up with it. So post it all here! Confessions from the summer, things you've always been dying to know but never had a chance to ask (e.g., why in the hell people use scooters indoors), or even how much you hate me for starting another anonymous thread (if you don't like it, there's a simple solution: don't read it!).
Here are the rules: There are no rules, which is based on the Outback Steakhouse's great "Aussie philosophy": "no rules, just right", bitches.

Must there be one of these every quarter? I mean, I've enjoyed them (or something) in the past, but geez. I hope this dies a quick and speedy death. They get stupid if overdone, and nothing's even happened in the first three days of school. Save it for later, and make it good.

Dude, is this really going to work or be worth it? I love these things too (stupid as they are), but someone tried it over the summer and it died pretty quickly and half of the thread was backlash against its own existence. I honestly think (and I think this has been mentioned before) that someone should set up a separate forum that allows people to post topics anonymously year-round and go from there. I have a feeling that no one will take the intiative and start something like it, though.

I dislike the fact that there is another anonymouse thread here, but I need to point out something very important.

I've been noticing that there are a lot of attractive guys on campus. I'm not sure if they're all freshman or if I just haven't noticed them before, but it's totally delightful. It's a terribly refreshing change from this past summer. :)

Dear Oberlin Anonymous Thread Fanatics,

I stopped reading the anonymous threads after round three, mostly because they're so darn hard to follow and keep up with. If you really must keep this up, why not pick a more browsing-friendly method? Such as a listserv (...and drown in emails) or a forum (...and find a computer person to run/host it), such as phpBB. Sound like computer gibberish? ...well, don't mind me, but if you want to start a new thread every time the previous thread caps at 5000 comments, it might as well have things like searching, threading, and organization.

Just my two cents.

(and no. I don't count as a computer person to run it...don't even think about it :-P )

I should never have been friends with you...all it was was me being so lonely I tolerated your weirdness. You're so incredibly off-putting, and because I came to be associated with you, I'm sure people formed a different opinion of me. You completely creep out my other friends--they've told me this. I'm wondering how different of a social life I could have been if I never initiated our friendship sophomore year.

I should feel like a horrible person for typing all of this, but I don't. You used me, I used you...our friendship was never genuine. We filled each others personal needs as they arose, and now the distance dictates that we don't have to speak with each other again. Maybe we won't.
