All-Gender Housing
I thought I'd give an update on the roommate/gender situation, since I'd be surprised if Reslife actually publicized things itself (/snark)
It's finally official that all-gender/mixed-gender/coed rooming will be redistributed for next year. From Molly Tyson, "I am happy to report that the Housing and Dining Committee agreed to proposal A for the redistribution of all-gender housing for the 2006-2007 academic year. This was also approved by Dean Gates. Therefore, all-gender housing will be located on Noah (2nd floor), East (Center 1st floor), Talcott (2nd floor), and South (3rd floor 340-354)."
This means that people can choose to live in those rooms regardless of their gender. Same-gender roommates can choose to live there too, of course. So, if you want to live with someone who is listed with the college as being a different gender than you, you can/must choose a room in the above sections of Noah, East, Talcott, or South. Also, Reslife will never assign anybody a roommate of another gender -- this is strictly an opt-in living situation.
