U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama wait for arriving leaders at the Phipps Conservatory, before an opening reception and working dinner for heads of delegation, at the Pittsburgh G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

No context was provided! The caption I provided was the only one given to all of these shots.

There *used* to be video footage up on YouTube that showed them joking around/being cute, but it was taken down due to copyright violations. :/

From what I can remember, Michelle made a remark about how the press was being way too quiet and playfully pressed them to talk more. Then she jokingly suggested playing music for the next G8 meeting, to make up for the silence. Barack then gestured to a crew member backstage, suggesting they would arrange the music. Whoever was backstage apparently started freaking out, thinking Barack was telling the press that music WAS arranged and would start playing any moment. Barack was all, "LOL, no j/k; DONT PANIC", and he and Michelle started cracking up. Hah.

ETA: You know what? I like this theory better. LOL

I think I remember there was also something about Obama telling Michelle she was standing on the wrong side of him... so she moved over to the other side. Then he was like, "um, I was just kidding".

In my mind, she then proceeds to fake-pummel him... but I think that's just my imagination.

What an appropriate song for you to be listening to as you post these pictures. They're so cute together. They're one of those couples people can't stop talking about not just because they're the first family but because you really can see that they really love each other. I love that I don't ever feel like they're putting on a show to preserve an image of family.

Haha, thank you. The Let It Be album is one of my fave Beatles albums, it always manages to provide a perfect track while Im updating the pics :) And they really do come across as a genuinely lovey-dovey family.
