SWEET!! =D I loved John Adams (the series) He produced a great series. When I watched the first episodes I couldn't help think of Obama,in fact he gave his speech on race and religion right around the time the series was just starting.

Very well thought out endorsement. Thanks!

My first thought was, 'Even Forrest Gump wants Obama for president!'

That film deserves the Academy Awardtm for best Tom Hanks Obama endorsement.

Seriously, Tom Hanks is a great actor, and I like seeing him get behind Obama.

I had no idea Tom Hanks was on MySpace. But I always knew he was hip, ego-free, and quick to adapt to the times.

Thank you, Tom, for doing this. You are our modern day Jimmy Stewart. Your endorsement would mean a great deal to middle-America and conservatives.

Join the club that Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Robert DeNiro, Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Halle Berry, Denzel Washington, Scarlett Johansson, most of the Kennedy family, pretty much all of the Carter family, etc. have joined.

Martin Sheen (Josiah Bartlett, The West Wing) and Dennis Haysbert (David Palmer, 24) are also Obama supporters!

Indeed! A little too much of the comic in Mr. Hanks to be our modern-day Gregory Peck. A friend of mine works in Hollywood for a local magazine that covers "the industry;" after 12+ years of being there, she routinely says that he's easily the most genuine, most personable, most polite person she has interacted with among others in his profession.

I was thrilled to see his endorsement, mainly because he does have his head in the mechanics of American history, i.e., he regularly seeks out history-related projects and has made solid work of bringing well-researched history to life via his preferred medium.

True. Mr. Nice Guy. He's from my part of the country---the Bay Area.

"Tom acted in school plays, including South Pacific, while attending Skyline High School in Oakland, California. Hanks studied theater at Chabot College, and after two years, transferred to California State University, Sacramento."

I own and really enjoyed his "Band of Brothers" HBO series

Exactly - he's not someone who's ill-informed. He understands the perspective of history, and he understands government. His is an endorsement worth something.
