AboutThis is the LJ community that is connection with the soon to be developed company, Oasis Publications.
Oasis Publications will be publishing e-books, that is, books that you can download to read on your computer, Palm or hand-held reader. In the future, we will be offering print-on-demand books.
We will be publishing a variety of genre, including science-fiction, fantasy, modern fiction, alternative fiction. We will also be publishing the works of aspiring graphic novelists and manga-type writers and artists. Our authors and artists will range in ages from 13+.
This community has been created as an open call for aspiring writers and artists who wish to be published. This community is for SERIOUS writers and artists of ORIGINAL material only (no fanfictions or fanart, please).
This community is also available for artists and writers to share their ideas and any writers'/artists' tidbits that they happen to have. If you would like constructive critism on your work, this is the place to be.
If you are also interested in working for Oasis as an editor or staff artists, or in any other capacity, please join.
The rules for this community are relatively simple:
1. Please introduce yourself before you post your works. Please make sure that you have contact information if you are requested to submit for publication.
2. This is for the protection of your intellectual property. DO NOT post FINAL drafts of any work on this community. If you are requested to submit for publication, you will be sent submission information.
3. Please indicate the rating of your work. Oasis will be offering publishing opportunities to authors and writers between the ages of 13 - 18 as well. If you are posting anything rated above R, please see below.
4. If you are interested in working for the company, please put that information in your introduction. You will be contacted by the moderator.
5. Have fun! Please remember to play nice in the sandbox. People who don't play nice will get one warning. Then they will be banned.
In order to post work with a rating over R:
1. Comment in this entry to let us know you're posting a R or greater piece of work. You will be added to a special filter friends list of this journal. The company will check your userinfo to make sure you are over the age of 18. This is a very serious matter, involving the liabilities of the company. If you are NOT 18, you will not be allowed to post stories over the rating of R. If you lie, and it is discovered later, you will be banned from the community and unable to submit to this company for any publication in the future. Sorry to be so rough, but this is purely business.
2. Email the post to oasis.publications@gmail.com
3. We will post the work, as you email it in the journal, under the filter. The only people able to see this work will be the people who are under this filter (people over the age of 18)
4. We'll go from there.
