Mac OS Install CD
I was wondering if someone could help me with this. Does anyone out there still have their Panther/Tiger/any mac OS install CDs? My ibook G4 (that runs Panther) just broke down and after going to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store, I found out that I would need to reinstall all the software that came with the computer, using those CDs. Other than that, my computer will be braindead. I tried looking for copies online, but I can't find anything under $50, which is what it would cost for me to go back to the Apple Store and have them do it for me. I also e-mailed ITS to see if they have a spare startup CD, but doubt they can help with that. So if anyone out there would be so kind as to let me borrow their mac OS install CD for an hour or so, I'd really appreciate it. My computer is completely useless without it (it won't go past a certain gray screen). I'd get the CD (s) from you in whichever way would be easiest for you and I could bake you cookies, make some phonecalls, buy you a burrito or something like that in exchange for your kindness! Thanks for anything, guys...!

I posted this in the NYU community also.

Hi guys, so someone, very kindly, offered to help, but (I hope this is useful to anyone else who might have this problem) apparently, you can't use a macbook install cd on an ibook... If anyone out there has an ibook and still has the install CDs, I would be forever grateful if you could be as kind as the other person who offered and let me borrow those cds for an hour or so. Ok, thanks a lot, guys.
