Admissions?
My name Is Lea and I am a High School Senior. As corny as it may-be, NYU is where my heart has been sicne I was a little girl. Hoever I could really use everyones opinion, please! My grades do not measure-up to that of those that would be "normal" acceptance. How do I make my application more likely for admission? How do I make myslef more likly for admission? I would really appreciate any imput!

I think the best thing to do is just show with your application how much you really do want to go to NYU, because then the admissions advisors will know that you won't turn them down if they accept you, and that's a big plus. Also an amazing essay is important, and make sure you have at least one or two teachers and a parent reread it before sending it in to catch every error possible.
Also, if everything about you is impressive except this one thing, you can still get in, and even if you don't get into the school you apply to, they may offer you a spot in GSP. A lot of my friends are in that, or were, and it's really a great school. I almost wish I had been put there because their requirements are so much more interesting-sounding. Good luck!

Think twice if you get admitted into GSP. It is a huge waste of time and they have no opportunity to take any more interesting classes like the rest of the schools. The truth is, you need a lot of involvement, and a great rest of the application to make up for less than avgerage grades. And even more truthful, even with less than average grades, your chances of admission are less than average. It's just that simple. Good luck and have a gfreat senior year.

PS, after 2.5 years here, I sometimes wish I had thought twice about coming. There's nowhere else I'd rather be, but sometimes its an intense place.
