    well that's interesting...Nuvaring loss post-sex?
has anyone ever LOST their ring after having sex? i just had my period a week early, found it weird, and figured i'd investigate - yep, it's not there. i know it was in before the weekend, and we'd had sex twice over the weekend, so it makes sense it came out during one of those times. fortunately he doesn't come inside me, so that isn't a concern (besides, hello period!)...my question is should i insert a new ring this friday (which is a week from when i think it fell out)? should i wait a month?

*edit* yes, i know, backup methods, blablabla. didn't notice it when it happened, therefore didn't realize that it was needed. won't see him again till after it's been reinserted and whatnot. don't need the lecture on it.

yet another noob asking questions... :)
I just started my first ring on Sunday (May 13th). Before that, I was on the patch (OrthoEvra) for just over 2 years. I adored both the convenience & the easy packability of the patch (I was living in the UK & travelling throughout Europe & decided to bring all 26 months worth [plus a couple of spares] with me, since I wasn't sure how to go about getting a Canadian prescription filled in either the UK or the EU), but the stupid, "try to hide a patch on your belly, below your uber-low-rise bikini bottoms" factor was a bit annoying. Any way, I'm back now & my gyno suggested that I might like the convenience of the ring even more than the patch, so we're doing a 3 month test run...
Okay... that should be enough info to help you guys answer my questions:
    • I've read a couple of posts already, that mentioned a 4in/1out schedule, but I was under the impression that this was meant to be the usual 3in/1out deal? Where have those who are using the 4/1 plan get the idea to do this & is there any documentation put out by NuvaRing themselves that says this is okay? If so, can I please have links?
    • Like I mentioned earlier, I popped my first ring ever in on Sunday & ever since, my eyes feel... "tired". You know, when you've stayed up too late, reading a book by bad lighting & your eyes are kinda dry & ache a bit? I'm trying to figure out if it could possibly be anything else (like on Sunday, I put it down to spending a good 6 hours out in the beautiful, gorgeous, afternoon sun), but I'm starting to wonder if it could be my ring?
    Thanks in advance everyone! :)

Nuvaring slipped out for 2-3 days? Do I need to start over?
    Hi,

I just started the nuvaring on February 16, so it had been in for about 9 or 10 days when I believe it to have slipped out. Honestly, I didn't even notice it had slipped out. As gross as this is, the only reason I knew that it had is because I found it on my living room floor (which is not where it could have slipped out at, so my 18 mo old son must have found it and moved it there). I had spotting on Friday and remember feeling it when I was using tampons that day, so I know it couldn't have been out before Friday night. I found it on Monday night and re-inserted it after washing it. I called my doctor's yesterday and they said that I should just start new this month with my next period. However, for several reasons I would prefer to just keep going rather than restarting (so I haven't removed it). First, I really want to get my body acclamated to this as soon as possible (I haven't been on birth control for about 5 years, I'm trying to ween my son and this could help, I have a wedding I'm in in May and really hope to be over the side-effects by then.... Then, well frankly we have a bachelor/bachelorette for my brother on March 11th and I was really looking forward to not worrying about bc or withdrawing.) Anyway, the directions on the package had just said to reinsert and wait 7 days again if it'd been out for more than 3 hours, and I know that it being in room temperature is ok. I was thinking of leaving it in for 3 extra days before removing it to kind of make up for those days. So does anyone know,... 1)is there anything health-wise wrong with me doing this? 2)should I be safe by March 11th to forego b.c. from this ring? or do I really need to start over because it was my first week of use?

hey guys, just inserted my first nuva ring yesterday..

exactly how far does it have to go in? It's not hanging out or anything, but it's like.. right inside my vagina. I pushed it back as far as I could, just want some reassurance that it's being used correctly.

    first post!
I started this community because I was very surprised that there wasn't already one out there. I'm on my second month with the nuvaring, and everything has been going well so far! I was on the patch before this, but it isn't exactly sexy to have a patch on your ass when you're having sex...hahaa!

I know that I need to add more...like changing the style and even get an icon, so I apologize.

How's the ring working for you? =)
