Characters: Amita Ramanujan, Don Eppes, Larry Fleinhart, Interviewer; Charles Eppes in the background. Team: Angst. Category: Charlie Word: Assent. Word Count: 1,045 words. Rating/Category: PG Gen. Spoilers: Harvest, the going-into-orbit arc, the brief mentions of the late Mrs. Eppes. Summary: It has been said that everyone remembers us differently. Four people give witness to what they know of Charlie Eppes. Notes: In the episode Harvest, Charlie gets a very distinctive look on his face when Amita is saying “When I was little, you know, kids used to make fun of me because I was different. But I didn’t want to be different. […] I wanted to push away that part of who I am,” and Charlie says “You wanted to fit in here,” with the voice of someone who knows from painful experience how it is to be on the outside and not wanting to be there. …so, in this, I engaged in a little wish-fufilment – I gave Charlie the opportunity to have a normal life. but, like everything else, this has a cost, a catch.Warnings: This is not deathfic…this is post-deathfic (is there a word for that?). And AU – not massively, but significantly. Disclaimer: None of the canon characters are mine; they belong to the creators of NUMB3RS. | Welcome to June and our sixteenth round here at numb3rswriteoff, which is all about Charlie Eppes! Your story may be gen, het or slash, it’s up to you. So *rubs hands together greedily*, if you’d like to play this round, comment here and tell me which team you’d like to write for, angst or schmoop. We need at least 6 people to sign up, 3 for each team, but we’ll take more than that if we can get them! We’ll also need pinch-hitters, so you can sign up for that, instead, if you like. Teams will be created on a first-come, first-served basis. That means, if we get 10 people who want to write for Team Schmoop and only 5 willing to write for Team Angst, and no one wants to switch over, we’ll be cutting off the teams at the first 5 people to respond for each team. Sign-ups will be open through midnight Sunday, June 7th. (Fic will most likely be due some time during the week of June 22nd; depending on the number of people we get signing up I may be able to start it a few days later. If you will not be able to post AT ALL during that time period, please do not sign up.) Also, please do not sign up if you are ineligible to participate in this round. (See the Rule Reminder below.) Any questions, ask them in comments here or e-mail me at spikedluv @ livejournal.com. Please, please pimp this out! The more people we have playing, the merrier. *g* Rule Reminder: Unless you have requested an emergency extension beforehand, you must post your fic on the day it is due. Part of the challenge is meeting that deadline. If you do not post your fic on the day assigned, you will not be eligible to participate in the next round. Please read the rules on the community profile for more information. Thank you.
