Aya Sumika
I'm not sure how many people are aware, but Aya Sumika (Liz) was on the NBC show "Hawaii". You haven't been hiding under a rock if you haven't heard of the show it only lasted seven episodes, but I enjoyed it:)

It was a cop drama set in Honolulu. Aya played Linh Tamiya an officer who really wanted to make detective. I recently bought the show and as I'm re-watching the episodes I'm quite impressed with Aya parts in the episodes. In the episode I just watched Linh trespassed onto an Air Force base to pollinate an endangered flower and in the episode before that she helped identify the skull of a sailor killed at Pearl Harbor. I could go on, but she's just a very interesting character.

I can post screencaps from the show (as soon as I'm able to make them) and I'll be making icons:)

aya sumika short film
As you may or may not know, Aya Sumika (Liz) was a dancer for many, many years before she became an actor.

Love Runs Red is a nine minute experimental short film, produced by and starring Aya, in which the story is told almost entirely in dance.

It's described as: A piece about a mistress who informs a wife of her husband’s betrayal. The wife confronts her husband with his affair. A dance begins, reflecting the heated emotions and complications of truth, love, and lies. In the end, deception comes full circle.

It's a really interesting and stunning-looking film and Aya's just amazing in it. She's clearly an extremely talented dancer. Also: hot like BURNING.

And a warning for the squeamish: there is blood and some implied violence.
