The Last Day

It's the holidays again - that time of year where we travel over hill and dale, through airports and freeways, spending hours in cars just to visit loved ones (and get lots of Christmas and Hanukkah presents).

The Monthly Theme for December is Transportation.

There's plenty of love to go around this season so we picked a man who needs some love after Ultimatum and probably somewhere to spend the holidays as well (that's not a tent). Our Challenge Pairings for December are Ian/Colby and Ian/Megan.

Ian's got quite the predator's appetite: who haven't we paired him with to try to sate it? With fanboy Colby he once had a willing acolyte, then Colby's past came out and Ian had more respect for him, now - after Ultimatum - their relationship has shifted again. Write Ian/Colby at any point in that continuum - even back in Afghanistan - and show us the man and the myth. Megan's in DC so Ian at Quantico teaching sniper techniques is in the neighborhood. They made piece after the hospital visit, so maybe now that Megan's recovered they can make sparks. So whether Ian's flying to the West Coast for Colby or the East Coast for Megan, the pickings for Ian pairings are just plain good.

Prompt #241 is Plane.

Have Don's team stop a pedophile at the airport thanks to one of Charlie's equations, keeping him from escaping the country. Show us Margaret holding her 13 year old genius son's hand as their flight to New Jersey takes off, leaving half their family behind. Show us Alan leaving his family home of New York to make a new life in LA or David flying back to the Bronx for holidays in the hood. How about some fun AUs? Billy as a barnstormer pilot, Don leading a squadron in the Air Force in WWII or Colby as an Army pilot in Vietnam… Whether you give us Charlie doing plane geometry at age 5, Larry seeking another plane of existence, teenage Don's car hydroplaning on bald tires in a storm or retired Alan planing wood in the garage to make his first grandchild a handmade crib, there are plainly plenty of choices!

Ho Ho HOMG have you seen the prices of gifts this holiday season? Whether you're stocking up for Christmas stockings or have a Hanukkah household the cost of Kwanzaa this year is making for some scary sticker shock.

Prompt #240 is Shock.

Shock the Monkey! Shock us with electrifying twists! Have one of Don's team shock their co-workers by coming out. Have Larry shock Charlie by showing up at Cal Sci as if he'd never been gone. Bring the Craftsman down on Alan's head during an earthquake and have his sons fight to get him out amidst dangerous aftershocks. Share the shock of someone getting shot or put them in shock themselves. Let Liz or Robin get a shock when their pregnancy test says positive or give David or Don a worse shock when their HIV tests come back. Perhaps homeowner Charlie gets a little ambitious with some electrical work and gets a shock from it and has to call Ray to the rescue. Or a worse shock: Susan shows up from the UK leading a wee curly headed genius by the hand. O.o Whatever shocking truth you decide to reveal, we can't wait to read it.
