Wow, we haven't used this in a while. I figured, though, that it was the quickest way to get in touch with the KC-area contingent. :)

It's definite: I will be in Kansas City on the 28th. Zino and I will be driving down from Lincoln very early that morning, and I am currently estimating that we will be leaving the event site between 7 and 8pm, depending on how long Court runs. (Without overwhelming y'all with details you don't really care about, I'll just say that this is a Coronation and there's a peerage ceremony involved, so I'm guessing it's going to be closer to 8. I could be wrong, though.) Site is at 75th and Belinder, and I will call...someone -- whoever volunteers, most likely -- when we're leaving.

So the questions are: a) who can make it? b) where should we eat?

Hey girls!

I'm going to be in KC March 15-17 or 18. It would be awesome if we could get together. The night of the 15th would be best for me since Evan is going to Fort Riley to visit some Army budddies. I'm hoping some of the out-of-town contingency can make it as well.

So, let me know if/when you're available, and we can start putting together some plans.

Birthday Season
So it is that time of year again when we are all celebrating out birthdays. I am becoming deep in present-debt, indeed.

Anyway, I was wondering when and what ya'll wanted to do to celebrate our collective emergence into the world. I had a few ideas, including a place downtown where Sean's sister works. They do a funny caberet show, have good food, and many various types of Martinis. Just a suggestion, I'm really up for anything, just want to hang out with ya'll.

I know some people are out of town, and others are moving, which is why I thought perhaps planning early would be good.

Let me know what ya'll were thinking.

Oh, and let me know what you would like as a present. Cause I'm lazy and haven't bought any presents yet. Hey.. I just moved!

The only time I can't do it is this weekend (I'll be in Chicago at a wedding).

Pi Day Party
Hey girls~
My friend Anita and I are having a Pi Day party, and you're all invited. It's mostly about eating pie at the moment, but it should be fun. It's going to be March 14, starting sometime around 5 or 6 at the KU Med campus. I'll post details of time and place when I've got specifics.

Secret Santa/Bridal Shower

I am going to host our holiday gathering and turn it into a combined bridal shower for Becca. There are ideas and suggestions in the email. Hit reply all and have at it. Especially since Carrie is going lj-less for a couple of weeks.

buffyholic and I were dining at Chipotle this afternoon, and the conversation turned to the fact that Nu Mu Pi, in various incarnations, will have existed for ten years next August. (I'm not exactly sure when it came into being, but I date it from August 1997.) And then a brilliant* idea came to me:

Nu Mu Pi will be ten in August.

buffyholic will be turning twenty-five at the end of August. Why not have a blowout celebration/birthday party? Considering that we all have summer birthdays, since

oneechan19 is celebrating hers in July now...

Anyway, the current plan as it exists in my head is for sometime Labor Day weekend.

paradoxicalme, would using your clubhouse/pool be an option?

Here's the scoop: Wednesday works best for everyone, so I was thinking we could meet at Liz and Becca's parents' house (volunteered by Liz) at 6:30 Wednesday evening. From there, we can pick a place to go eat. Potential places could be Cactus Grill, Bo Ling's, Applebee's, TGI Fridays, etc. Please think about where you'd like to go so it doesn't take us forever to pick somewhere on Wednesday. I'm cross-posting this to email as well.

It has been suggested by brilliant people that we go to see Pirates of the Caribbean II on Friday, July 7. Obviously, I do not know what time, as the showtimes have not yet been released. However, that can be decided later.

So, are you interested? If so, go to my journal here and vote on showtimes.

I've seen suggestions of July 5 for birthday celebrations - that isn't going to work, as both Becca and I will be in Pennsylvania. Do we want to wait for Sara's birthday and celebrate then?

So how about this-- Tuesday night we meet up for dinner and celebrate birthdays. Ebeth, if you can't make it, we could celebrate yours when you're freer?

We're very birthday-laden this month, but we haven't celebrated! I vote that as soon as Sara gets back from Texas, we all go out for dinner or something to celebrate our birthdays. How does that sound? And Sara, when will you be back?

I will be in town for a class next weekend. I'll drive down after I get off work on Tuesday (at five) and probably eat on the way, but maybe dinner after I get out of class on Wednesday before I have to drive back to OP (so I can work Thursday morning). Anyone up for it?

We have a very exciting weekend ahead of us! :) First,

paradoxicalme will be arriving on Friday, probably between 5 and 7;

oneechan19, what time do you work if at all? I imagine we'll be getting dinner when she arrives in town, and then possibly going to Target so that I can obtain a copy of Grey's Anatomy. (I blame my flist.) Saturday is the K-State game at 3, and then at 8, Elizabeth and I, as well as anyone who wishes to join us, will be watching the clash between the Forces of Good and Evil, otherwise known as the Duke-North Carolina game. Warning: there will be screaming. On Sunday, Elizabeth will be leaving us :( and the people remaining here will possibly be gathering to watch the Oscars. Carrie, are you working? (Katy: your apartment? Also, do you want us to bring anything?)

I am very excited. And now, I shall go back to listening to biology. Punnett squares for the win.
