| About: | Do you like Harry Potter fanfiction? Are you positive that fanfiction.net is a place for those who can’t write well? Well, this darling community is here to prove you wrong, one set of recommendations at a time! Every now and then I, Kate, shall post a set of Harry Potter recs of any genre, although I am partial to certain ships and whatnot. And now you can post your favorite stories as well! Do you know of a particularly good fanfiction that can be found on fanfiction.net that you feel should be recced? Here are the rules: 1. Join. 2. Make sure the fic you rec is Harry Potter related. Originally, this community was only for stories from fanfiction.net, but now it is allowing Harry Potter fanfiction from many sites. Scroll down and you'll find the list of what sites are currently allowed in the FAQ. 3. Your post should use the following form: Title: Author: Rated: Chapters: Status: Complete/Incomplete Genre: Ships: Summary: Review: Although this is optional it's a nice way to tell us why we should read this fic! 4. PLEASE USE TAGS! This makes everything so much easier! Please use tags for the genre of your recced story. (For instance, if you reccomend a romance/drama, type "romance" and "drama" in the tag box.) Please use tags for the characters in your story. (If Ron is a main character, type "Ron". Type all major characters!) Lastly, use tags for ships in the story. (If the story ships "Ron/Hermione" as well as "Neville/Ginny", make sure you type these two things in the tag box!) Have fun reading and reccing! FAQ What sites can I rec from? Right now, please stick to reccing fanfics from fanfiction.net, harrypotterfanfiction.com, checkmated.com, and livejournal.com. If you really really really like a fanfic from another site, let me know in a comment, preferably in a news-related entry. I'll totally let you know if you can rec your story or not. I'll allow pretty much anything unless...well, unless I don't like you. Are there any stories I can't reccomend? Yes and no. You can rec stories from the sites listen in the previous question, and perhaps from others if you ask permission/more sites are added later on. You can only reccomend Harry Potter-related fanfics. Also, this community is really about those unknown gems in a wasteland of, well, complete and utter crap! So please don't rec anything that really, really sucks, although I trust your judgement. Also, I won't get miffed or anything, but if you reccomend a fanfic that simply everyone knows, that might just be pushing it a little. That's not the purpose of this community. WAIT?! I can post now?! Yeah, I have no time on my hands. So just post if you want to rec a fic. Okay? What types of fics do you rec? Well, we rec all fics that are from fanfiction.net. And don't rec something shitty, or I'll probably start giving your posts weird looks. Can I post with questions or post that I'm searching for a fic? Yeah. Just don't use tags then. Can I post my own fic? *shrugs* Well, I kind of created this so you could talk endlessly about the greatness of others...the downgraded authors over at fanfiction.net, but, hell, I might even post my own fics if I get around to it.
