Okay, so lots of official announcements. Very heavy stuff.

First off, Lacey is no longer a Mod starting as of now. This was a very hard decision for her to make since this community has been a major piece of her life for quite some time. I'm unsure if she will do an official goodbye post or not but be sure that this took a lot of thought and she didn't make this choice lightly.

She will be assisting me in finishing out this Season's Quidditch matches (we are currently in the middle of playing Hufflepuff vs Slytherin. And then will immediately go into Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw). the AIM chatroom is always NPquidditch: we will be in there probably every evening for the next couple weeks so stop in or ping me if you want to watch.

Secondly. Since there was no response to my question posed earlier about playing out the final 2 weeks of classes over the month of January - I've decided to go ahead with that plan. All the posts (and DP) will be updated soon to reflect that.

This will also be the format moving forward in the game; 1 monthly post to play out 2 IG weeks. Now that it's just myself as Mod (unless someone wants to volunteer) this will be way easier for me to handle.

Overall there is a massive lack of activity; so we (now I) have decided to drop all plot posts and mostly leave this community open if people so choose to post. If there is no activity over the next couple months I will probably officially declare this community as dead.

And now the question is there anything we can do to make this game more fun for everyone? Or is this it? We've come up with a few ideas/questions to run by you all so please comment if you have any input or ideas of your own. If there's something that we can do to make this worth your while, let us know! If we're all just sort of done then we can agree to that too and end it with some dignity. Or maybe you'll all surprise me and be outraged at the very idea. That's why we need the poll. So! Some thoughts we've had about what may or may not help.

Does the time change set up we have going now help or detract from your threading? In other words, do you still wish were were playing one IG day at a time rather than a week?

One idea that's been kicked around is giving all of our chars a sort of fresh start- by starting a NP RP five years in the future. It would be the same chars (or new ones!) but kicked forward a bit, with the war in full swing, most of our kids as adults and all the craziness people have plotted about going on in the future happening now, with everyone jumped there. The firsties wouldn't be quite out of school but I think that would put the rest of our actively played chars out of Hogwarts to run around. It would be something new anyway and could be done as a connected comm rather than jumping NP itself, giving people the ability to play in either time frame.

Yes, it is week change. Yes I have articles written. No, I'm not going to stay up and type them into the DP post right now because...it's Mother's Day and I just got back from doing family stuff. And I'm tired. Sorry! I'll get the DP up tomorrow when I get back from work. Until then, if you're really excited to play just keep it in the old posts.

I'm sure I feel like more of a slacker over this than any of you think I am. That almost makes it okay, right?

Edit: Ah yes, the dates for this week are Jan 22nd-28th. Our play time for Quidditch is still TBA, I'll get it sorted this week and hopefully we can play it by Friday or over the weekend at the latest.

So, as stated previously, there have only been two mod applications submitted; one from Julia and one from myself (Lacey). This is hardly conductive to an actual election so, since we're already mods, I'm just giving you all the option to rubber stamp us staying on or to step up and say you'd like to ditch us. I guess if you don't vote and say no, I'll take your silence as a 'yes' vote too.

Alright, just to put your minds at ease and to keep you all up to date, we (your mods) sent off a note to TG letting them know that we are declining their offer of a merge. We had 1 yes to 15 no (factoring out character votes) with 6 undecided (factoring out one for a changed opinion). So, that's all there is to that. We told them that they are welcome to app characters here if they choose but there will be NO MERGE.
