Alright Folks (if there is anyone left here?)

I've been letting np-rp.com go for quite a bit... I noticed it has a lot of layout stuff and such on it (I didn't check on -whose- it was)... this might be the time for whomever still runs these comms to go through and grab any graphics or scripts that are still being hosted on the site.

At the end of the month I'm scrubbing the site. I've been paying about $8 a month for over a year for the site and well, I want to clean it up (probably get a new domain name) and make my own site.

So, to whom it may concern, players and mods alike, you have anything on the site that you know is still active (I think I left the Merlins Medals for now but if you have them and want them, save them to your own places), please grab it. come the end of this month (thereabouts) I'll be removing everything.

Ravenclaw had already spotted the snitch and Lia had blocked Remy's attempt for the first goal. The Quaffle had just been passed off to Cassie and Jul had had been taken out for three by a bludger.

And now, on the NP Quidditch Network...

Round 5-9 Recap!
Remy shows no qualms in stealing from a second year when the Cup is on the line and takes the quaffle from Cassie, getting away with it so well that he swings straight to an open goal and SCORES before Lia can even try to block. Gryffindor is on the board with 10 points.
Lia regains the quaffle, feeling pretty well ticked off.
Naia moves toward the snitch.
CeCe fails another spot attempt.
Hannah gets back into the air after her earlier slip.
RA comes in to take the quaffle for Claw.
Jesse hits bludger1 away since no one is in range.
Bludger2 goes straight for Zak but he apparently doesn't see it coming, he gets hit and is out three on a crit miss.
RA passes to Cassie.
Cassie passes to Hannah. Claw is on a roll.
JFK hits bludger2 at the only Gryff chaser in range, smacking Anora with a body clip.
Jul comes back in.
CeCe spots the snitch for Gryffindor.
Anora tries to steal the quaffle but Hannah slips past her with nothing but empty field ahead.
Derek hits bludger1 away but where he can get to it later.
Jesse moves in to block Hannah for the chasers.
JFK moves to block CeCe from getting a clearer shot at the snitch.
All of the Gryffindor chasers race after Hannah.
Zak comes back in.
Both Seekers close in on the snitch.
Bludger1 attacks Derek, who hits it at CeCe for a body clip.
The snitch flies right toward Naia but she doesn't get it and it flies on far, far away from both Seekers.
JFK hits bludger2 at Remy just in case and gets a body hit, taking him out for one.

Gryffindor wins the toss and Jul starts with the quaffle.
Hannah swoops in and steals from Jul.
A battle at center-pitch starts as Jul steals the quaffle back.
Hannah tries to steal again but slips and falls on a crit miss, out three.
Derek has no targets and hits bludger2 away.
Bludger2 comes back for Derek, who hits it away again, getting in some warm up time.
Bludger1 goes through one of the goal hoops to attack Lia but she's already beyond tense and sees it coming, dodges easily.
Jul passes the quaffle to Remy.
Naia (on only her second try) SPOTS THE SNITCH! (Derek apparently invested in a pair of glasses for her between last game and today. Either that or he's been force feeding her carrots or something.)
CeCe still doesn't see the snitch.
Derek still has no one in range and hits bludger1 away.
Cassie takes a shot at stopping Remy and tries to intercept but Remy has 5 years on her and evades without any trouble.
Lia moves into position to block.
Remy shoots and Lia saves like a badass with a crit hit. No score, Lia has the quaffle.
Bludger2 attacks Derek and finally someone is in range, he hits it at Remy to warn him away from the goals, Remy successfully ducks.
Cassie comes in and takes the quaffle from Lia.
Bludger1 catches Jul by surprise and takes her out for three.

Only Ravenclaw has spotted the snitch so far.

Will has an open field ahead to the Slytherin goals.
Bludger2 attacks Will but he sees it in time to swerve free.
Not to be put off, Rus hits bludger1 at Will from behind, he doesn't see it and gets nailed, out three and the quaffle is dropped.
Slytherin Seeker flies in for the snitch and CATCHES IT! Game over, Slytherin wins!

Final Score: Hufflepuff 0 - Slytherin 190

Bella attempts to intercept but Will evades.
JJ thinks he sees the snitch for second...but it turns out to be something shiny that RA is playing with in the stands, possibly intentionally trying to distract him or maybe just for fun.
Slytherin Beater hits bludger2 at Arisha who evades like a pro.
Bella successfully steals the quaffle from Will.
Will tries to steal it back with no luck.
Tegan moves in to block Bella.
Nate shifts nervously at the Puff goals.
Bludger2 goes for Anya who hits it away.
With no other options Tegan tries to foul Bella (Blatching - flying to intentionally collide) but her heart's not really in it and Bella just moves around her. Foul attempt goes unspotted.
Neither Seeker spots the snitch.
Bludger1 goes for Arisha and she gets a body clip.
Nate moves nervously (again) as Bella closes in.
Bludger2 goes toward Anya who tries to hit at Ramsey but she completely miscalculates and gets hit herself and knocked off her broom, out three on a crit fail.
Bella throws at goal but Nate saves!
Rus hits bludger2 at JJ who's apparently still distracted by either RA's shiny or Anya falling and he's out three after a HARD hit.
Tegan hits bludger1 at Ramsey but he evades.
Nate passes the quaffle to Arisha.
Arisha passes to Trip.
Ramsey steals the quaffle.
Slytherin Seeker fails to spot the snitch.
Trip steals the quaffle back from Ramsey.
Bludger1 attacks Cody and scores a body hit, he's out one.
Tobias laughs at everyone.

Ramsey is annoyed and steals the quaffle back from Trip (again) and flies for the open goal to SCORE! Slytherin 30.

Bella smells blood and chases after Will again.
Cody steals the quaffle from Will and throws it to Bella.

Puff is starting to get pretty sore.

Bludger1 goes for Anya, she's ready to hurt something and takes Ramsey out one with a body hit.
Nate throws to Trip this time but she's still shaky and falls on a crit miss, out three and the quaffle is free.
Tobias is dying of laughter and Jul throws something at him from the stands, he sees it in time to duck. The ref doesn't see it.
Slytherin Beater hits bludger1 away.
Ramsey gets back in the air.
Slythern Seeker spots the snitch!
JJ is finally given the okay from the nurse and gets back into the air.
Nate rushes in and grabs the quaffle before Bella can reach it.
Bludger2 goes for Rus who tries for Will but he evades easily with a crit hit.
Bella is pissed that she can't steal from a Keeper and settles for glaring as though she'll get Nate next time.
Rus hits bludger2 at Will who evades with another crit hit because someone has to keep the Puffs alive.
Anya and Tegan say enough is enough and form a Wall of Beaters in the hopes that they can do...something.
Nate passes the quaffle off to Will.
Bludger2 goes for Tegan and she slams it into an unsuspecting Cody, he's out three.
Bella tries to intercept but Will evades and runs toward the Wall of Beaters for protection.
Arisha comes back in.
Wall of Beaters moves to let Will through and guard his back.
JJ gets a chance to spot but misses the snitch.
Bludger2 goes for Anya and she tries to take Bella out this time but she's still off her game, she takes a hit on a crit miss and is out three again.
The snitch flies right for the Slytherin Seeker but s/he can't quite get their hands on it and it slips away.
Ramsey tries to steal from Will before he can get away to an open field but Will evades.

Slytherin Beater blindsides Arisha with bludger1, she's out 3 and the quaffle is free.
Ramesy grabs the quaffle.
Tegan tries a blagging foul to slow him down (grabbing onto the tail of his broom) but Ramsey evades. The foul goes uncaught by our unnamed ref.
Neither seeker spots the snitch.
Ramsey takes a shot and SCORES AGAIN! Slytherin 20.
Nate (who is getting a lot of play time already) passes the quaffle to Trip.
Arisha comes back in.
No snitch spottings.
Trip successfully passes the quaffle to Will.
Bludger1 goes for Tegan who takes another shot at Ramsey but he evades easily.
Tobias is obnoxious.
Bludger2 goes for Anya and she takes a shot at the Slytherin Seeker, scoring a body clip.
Rus hits bludger2 at JJ and gets a body clip on him as well.

Alright. As all of you know (or were reminded), the deadline for answering the roll call post in Officials was up last week. I sent notes out to those that hadn't answered yet and got a few more confirmations in, but otherwise started cleaning up the lists based on what I had. This weekend I've got the update finished, minus one yes/no reply I'm still waiting on. So, all of our player and characters lists should be current.

If you or someone you know happens to be one of the few who's been gone for months on undeclared hiatus and has come back to find you've been taken off the lists, please Contact the Mods and let us know! I'll be more than happy to add you back on but I don't want to stall the updating process waiting on non-responders when most everyone has gotten back to us. So, if you still want in, let us know and we'll take care of it. Promise.

Also, just to clear the matter up since a lot of people seem unsure lately- player activity/inactivity does not count for or against you. Because most of our players have very busy schedules lately, we are not penalizing people if they are unable to post. We are keeping track of activity, but the only thing it counts for at present is whether you're eligible to apply for a new character. You do still have to have threaded all of your current characters in the past month before being able to ask for a new one. Other than that, we're not watching. So, please don't feel like you can't thread because you've been gone and the angry hammer of The Mods will come down on you. We're happy to see people play when they can. This could make things confusing as far as declaring hiatus so I'll try to clear that up. If you know you won't be posting for a set amount of time, you can still declare hiatus. If you declare it, technically you shouldn't be posting but I'm not going to be too hard on you at this point if you do. Giving people a heads up that you aren't available is nice, but since most people are coming and going as time permits, we're not going to get tied up with hiatus or non-hiatus.

That said, the IG school year is in its last few months. Anyone with ideas or suggestions for things you'd like to see before summer hits for our kids again, feel free to let us know! We'd love to see some of the seventh years stick around this time post-graduation so if you have thoughts on how to make that easier to play, tell us that too. You can go to contact the mods or hit me up personally for any of that since I've still got plot and the DP. I've been bugging Julia to get that Puff/Slytherin game played before we run into the Gryff/Claw game to end the season so hopefully we'll have some Quidditch action for you again soon as well. My apologies for the crazy delay there.

Hey guys! I've sort of been mostly off the computer for awhile, sorry. I mentally sent Derek home over Easter hols week to hang out with the DeLouise twins so I figured I could get away with not posting all of last IG week. But I'm here now! :D

Anyone interested in a thread? I might throw out some open ones later but for now I figured I'd just see if anyone has a request. I'd love to get in whatever works for whoever. Slow threads are completely acceptable. I'm dropping Lenore but I'm not counting it as official until the month is up and the roll call post in Officials closes. So, if any of you with history there would like a last shot at a thread before she's confined to her journal, let me know. Otherwise, I've still got Derek, Tia, and Professor Crone kicking around. Let me know if you want any of them.

Alright guys, as promised, we've got a new Roll Call post up in Officials. Please swing by there and confirm EACH of your characters that you intend to keep. If you're not playing anymore or want to drop one, simply don't respond.

You will have ONE MONTH to reply.

After that time, if you have not responded, we will assume you no longer wish to play and/or that that character has been dropped. We will be reminding you to fill this out over the next few weeks and if I can, I'll try to snag you individually before removing you or your characters from the lists at the end of the month. This is only a courtesy however and I would appreciate it if you go and fill the character acknowledgment before making one of the mods find you at the last minute.

In other news, I've closed the polls that were up in Officials. You can stroll over and look at the results if you like. We're holding off on making any more grand plans until we see what kind of response we get on the roll call. We had somewhere between 5 and 7 people respond to the poll so if you guys are sticking around, apparently we could stand some restructuring to make the comm more efficient for those still playing. Votes were split on whether to break the DP into week and weekend sections for the sake of those that want to try dividing their playing time. Because I've had time to think about it (as the person who writes the DP) it's kind of a pain on my end to split it? So I'm going to try posting a note to remind you that we're at the halfway point of the IG week instead. If you have complaints or comments about that, feel free to drop me a line or hit up Contact the Mods.

As you can all see, it's week change! And on that note, I have a few announcements.

For those of you that haven't yet, please take a look at the polls posted in np_officials and vote if you would. There's nothing terribly critical there but we're trying to get a feel for what you guys think of a few ideas that have been bounced around. If we don't have feed back, we can't come up with new shinys for you now can we? Because I'm still hoping to get some more responses, I did not break this week's Prophet up into week and weekend. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check the poll. If you do, have patience, I'm hoping to either give it a shot or not on next week change (which will be handy for me since it'll be a month switch as well).

With this current IG week come several points. First there's Hufflepuff vs Slytherin Quidditch on Saturday, March 31st. It's the second to last game of the season. The cup hangs in the balance! No really. Just not for Slytherin. Julia and I are planning to start playing that this week so if you're around when we're going, I'll try to IM you so you can join in. You can also just pop into AIM chatroom "npquidditch" and see if we're there. Anyone who doesn't have access to the pitch on Googledocs yet but would like to so you can watch the game as we play should go here and request to be invited. I'll make sure we get you on the list.

The day after Quidditch, Sunday April 1st, is the third apparation class for sixth years. It is also, obviously, April Fools day. Personally, I don't think this bodes well but who doesn't like some chaos thrown into apparating? This is the final class before the apparation exam is held at school on April 15th. (I know it doesn't really matter, but it's fun to pretend as though it does.)

And finally, a point I only realized today while working on the Prophet, this IG weekend leads straight into Easter hols for the kids. As I recall, last year we had students staying at school unless they put in a request to go home so I just stuck with that. You don't have to let me know if your student is gone, I'm just trying to keep things consistent. Because of events (Gillichu and the plague last fall) security is tighter with Hogsmeade visits so I'm not sure yet if third years and up will be allowed to go down all week or not. Probably not, because I think there will be werewolf related security concerns (which you'll have to read about in next week's Prophet). But you'll get an update on that when it comes up. (Easter, for the record, falls on April 8th which is next Sunday IG, aka Sunday at the tail end of the week off.)
