Happy Friday!
Authors, please look at the Prologue I am about to post. This is the start of our novel! Please follow the format presented in the next entry when posting all chapters. Please put a whole blank line between paragraphs and use the proper HTML for italics and other formatting. Pay attention to punctuation.
If you need a page break (a large space separating two sections of a chapter), please use four blank paragraphs (four hits of the enter key). Any ***************** silliness will not be tolerated.
Put the chapter number (Chapter 1, for example) in the subject line. As the header of your writing, please put the following:
Chapter Number: Chapter Title
Location: Location
Author: LJ user; Penname
Example:
Chapter 2: An Adventure in Time
Location: London, England
Author: iamleaper; RyRy
Please, after this header, put your chapter contents under an LJ cut with the title of the chapter as the text of the cut. If you do not know how to do an LJ-cut, please see this FAQ. The code will look like this (except replacing the [] brackets with the proper <> HTML brackets):

Welcome radmankoe to the Author's Circle! Another excellent, excellent bread example.
We now have five authors! I know there are more who are interested... please get your applications in ASAP. I will post the Prologue on Friday.
The rotation is now as follows:
1. iamleaper
2. hellbait
3. geodesy
4. utena_kun
5. radmankoe
6. glamourcharm
7. pandiculpenguin
We can still take two more authors, though there will be no more than seven total. If the story starts and we have less than seven authors and you are interested, you may still submit an application. We will place you at the end of the rotation at that point.
Authors: You will have four days EXACTLY from the posting of the chapter before yours to write your chapter and post it. Once those four days are up, the turn defaults to the next one in the rotation. You CANNOT post your chapter late unless you clear it with the rest of the authors.
So, for example, say geodesy posts her chapter on May 1st at 2:00 PM EST. utena_kun has until May 5th at 2:00 PM EST to post her chapter. If she does not post it by then, her turn is skipped and radmankoe has until May 9th at 2:00 PM EST to post his chapter. If radmankoe posts his chapter then on May 10th at 11:00 AM EST, iamleaper has until May 14th at 11:00 AM EST to post her chapter.
And remember, chapters don't have to be gorgeous works of literary art. Try to stay within the already-established characterization of the characters and try to do something worthwhile to the story within your chapter... but chapters can be any length, and we won't kill you if they contain a grammatical mistake... just don't make those frequently, okay? I have faith in all of you.

Anybody who comes across this community is welcome to friend and read along. Do not attempt to join unless you intend to become an author, because your request will be denied.
