Tonight! * TheGreyman * Nova Express
*~Lighthouse Promotions~* presents: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8 * THEGREYMAN9:30pm * All Ages * All Wages Trichotomy: This is the first solo show from TheGreyman in several years. An eclectic performance consisting of 3 scenes: anger, happy, serene with a focus on TheGreyman's deep and versatile voice ranging from darkwave, chant, scatting, and beatbox. Parts of the performance will involve live looping, in which a song is constructed before hand (i.e. verse1, chorus) but with no pre-recorded or sampled elements, and then populated with sound during the performance, ran through an arsenal of effects, layer upon layer to creating walls of sound or ...a complete cacophony if the timing is off, ensuring that no performance is exactly the same. Influences are Dead Can Dance, Depeche Mode, Tool, Enya, Bobby McFerrin, Kid Beyond, and the many colors of the human voice around the world and beyond. His obsessive experiments with gene-splicing the seemingly disparate worlds of instrumental musicianship and post-DJ thought have won him acclaim, controversy, and more than a few puzzled looks from his listeners. His iconoclastic first CD, Disruption Theory, juxtaposed live electric guitar against intricate electronic programming, and was greeted with both serious critical praise and serious commercial obscurity. The typical (!) Fuxedos show is chock-full of healthy doses of adrenaline, creativity, humor, and insanity. Members' credits include such innovative local, national, and international bands as Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade, Dan Hicks, Idiot Flesh, Charming Hostess, the Billy Nayer Show, and Baby Snufkin. *~Lighthouse Promotions~* presents: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 * REED ROTHCHILD and HENRY STRANGE 9:30pm * All Ages * All Wages REED ROTHCHILD creates electronic music that can appeal to the masses, while incorporating odd time signatures, live instruments, and electro-acoustic textures. The music is very cinematic in nature, conveying emotion and telling stories, while traversing a range of styles including electro, ambient, and breaks. HENRY STRANGE is a veteran producer and audio brain. He's had the opportunity to work with hundreds of synths and signal processors made since the 1960's. He's had his share of cutting analog tape and using 2-line LCD screen digital synthesizers. Never standing still, Henry has kept up with the times, always maintaining the bleeding edge. From working with DOS based sequencer/samplers in the 1990's to working with the modern MIDI software and softsynths, Henry has worked with it all. He's experimented for years using the E-MU and Moog modular synths from the late 1960's and has done nerdy stuff like creating 50 ft tape delays using 4 reel to reel machines.
