No, no, my silly little monkeys, I didn't forget about KING DORK.
In fact, tonight we accompanied Mr. Frank Portman himself to Capuchino High School in San Bruno for a sort of "Not Your Mother's Bookclub - Peninsula Edition" with the kids there.
Frank grew up in nearby Millbrae. He said that back when he was Prince Dork, he visited Capuchino H.S. ... in fact, he painted graffiti on it. In Elvish. HA!
Dudes, over 150 KIDS showed up. Holy cats! That is bigger than my graduating class was.
A bunch of teachers read their favorite parts aloud, the Vice-Principal read a part about an evil vice principal! and then Frank sang a bunch of slightly dirty songs, and a fun time was had by all.
Thanks, Capuchins, for taking care of us!

He's great fun, but not a huge fan of reading. I've now done several events with him, and if I were you and I were planning an event with him, I'd get librarians or teens to read their own fave parts aloud. First of all, because it's funny as hell to have librarians read aloud about fighting and blowjobs - and then, so that he can put all his voice into singing his zanily terrific songs.
That's just me, though. Either way, he'll be great!
It includes a review of the event. We hope to post video from the event there soon.
