note_to_kid and note_to_cat, we bring you...well, this.
A little place to get it off your chest. Because some people just are.
Note: Be funny. If you aren't funny, and are just here to whine and be passive-aggressive, you won't make the cut. I'm not that picky, but at least make an effort.
Heartfelt rants that are not really funny are also acceptable, depending on their eloquence.
With great reluctance, I have made up some rules. Yes, I pulled them out of my ass, and ye gods, how I loathe having to waste my time on this.
1) I am a cranky, arbitrary, capricious bitch who is ridiculously easily annoyed by other people's asininity. That's why I started this damn community in the first place. Yes, this is a rule. Think of it as a guiding principle, and refer back to it when you feel motivated to protest one of my decisions.
2) For the nonce, posts are going to be moderated until I approve them. If that becomes too tedious and time-consuming, I will go back to not moderating posts and simply delete the ones that are too irritating and whiny.
3) You are free to rant, vent, bitch, and get it off your chest, with verve and style.
4) You are NOT free to whine, pule, post long boring tirades, or otherwise bring down the energy, intent, and atmosphere of the place. Most especially, you are not free to deliberately foment or perpetuate drama. You are also not allowed to show us all what a shiny bigot you are. If you feel resentment at this, go see a fucking therapist...or better yet, shoot yourself in the head and put the rest of us out of your misery...but don't come whining to me. You will not like the results, I promise you.
5) The definition of terms and of the rules, such as they are, is in the eye of the moderator. Control=responsibility, and responsibility=power. Remember that, kiddies. If this is above your head, refer back to Rule #1.
6) Do not bore the moderator.
7) Do not annoy the moderator.
8) Brevity is the soul of wit.
ADDENDUM:
9) Do not start rows in the comments of other people's perfectly good (or even perfectly bad) rants. If you can write a brilliant, hysterically funny satire expressing your own point of view, go for it. If you can't, shut the hell up. I don't want to spend time and energy refereeing disputes, and I don't like the feeling that I can't turn my back on you for five minutes. I've HAD a toddler, thank you, and if I wanted another one, I'd go get myself knocked up.
In general, if you partake of the beauty of being able to rant and rave freely about some dumbass who is causing your allergy to stupid to flare up, do not interfere in that right for others. Do not rain on their parade, do not pee in their Cheerios. Got it?

elorie. All complaints, protests, and general whinging, if you insist on indulging in them, must be written in verse. I am not kidding. If you think this is just because I don't want to deal with people bitching at me all the time, your supposition would be correct.
I am currently toying with the idea of making everyone write their posts in verse, so don't provoke me.
