So I had to forsake NaNoWriMo, if you didn't notice my sudden failure to update after, like, the first week. It was probably a mistake to try to do it this year, since I had all my big projects and travel plans during November (not to mention I got sick); so I'm changing tack.

INTRODUCING: FANFIWRIMO. IT'S LIKE NANO, BUT A MONTH LATER AND FANFICTION. MY GENIUS, IT STAGGERS YOU.

You all know how many fanfiction ideas I've had that I haven't executed, so I'm going to do a NaNo-like writing barrage over the next month and see if I can't get all three of my Supernatural fanfiction ideas complete enough to be beta'd. There's no pressure to stick with one story, or even one fandom: I just write as many words of fanfiction as I can, but count everything as one project with all their numbers added up to get my word count.

So if you want to join me, the dark side is awash with various baked amenities of delicious variance. It's pretty much a self-moderated thing, so I'll be keeping track of my progress in ye olde writing LJ. The NaNo word meter is still up, and is my tool of choice, but if you like you can keep track of it whichever way is easiest for you.

HAPPY slashing WRITING EVERYBODY. And congratulations to all my friends who Won! this year, and are spending December editing; you guys rock!

2407 / 50000 words. 5% done!

If I'm honest, I'm not doing well. I haven't written in the past few days. I will be trying to get it a few literary filibusters by next week and see if I can't at least his the tens of thousands.

Not a lot again; kind of a big night.

Technically this is Day 1 of my new project. The Supernaturalist wasn't working out for me - it just would have taken entirely too much research to pull it off, and I'd rather write what I know for a project with these parameters. I am really enthusiastic about this new project, but a part of me doesn't want people to know what it is yet; I'm going with my instincts on that.

Hope your NaNoing is going well!

Not a great start, but I'll forgive myself because I'm in the midst of studying for an exam on Monday.

Title: In Wineseller's Street
Fandom: American Idol/The Soup
Genre: Slash, RPS, crossover
Pairing: Ryan Seacrest/Joel McHale
Rating: PG-13
Summary: At a boring industry party, Joel and Ryan decide to make their own fun.
Notes: This is my first foray into RPS. Not much beta'ing or anything went into this, as it was just a challenge to myself to see if I could write something quickly, as soon as the idea came into my head. Took a few hours, ish. Was fun. Title is taken from a random Hafiz poem. Also, I'm a terrible writer. Huzzah!

... there was a difference between a well-maintained, purposeful scruff and someone who had taken the trend as an opportunity not to shave. Joel was the latter. )

Title: Hydrophobia
Rating: PG (for some scary imagery and mentions of death)
Genre: Literary short story.
Notes: I usually warm up for writing by spewing out any rants, thoughts or random writing that I can, so I don't feel pent up by trying to fit words and ideologies into something where it doesn't fit. However, this stream-of-thought ramble actually sounded really cool to me, just for the sake of wordplay. So I edited it up a bit and decided to post it as a (very short) short story. And just so you're not all worried about me, the narrator is not supposed to be me.

I won’t even recognize the world when I open my eyes and see it through glassy water eyes... )

Rating: PG
Fandom: The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy
Genre: Slash
Pairing: Ford/Arthur
Note: This fanfiction was written as a present for [info]tekiclutch some time ago, and was just recently unearthed and re-edited.
Disclaimer: Douglas Adams was the one that wrote The Guide, not I, and it's a good thing he did at that.

Title: Knots
Fandom: M*A*S*H
Genre: Slash/Romance
Pairing: BJ Hunnicutt/”Hawkeye” Pierce
Rating: PG
Summary: This is set after the seventh season episode “BJ Papa San”. After losing something that helps curb his homesickness, BJ has to find something else to occupy that space.
Disclaimer: M*A*S*H was created, filmed, and acted out before I was even born. I take no credit whatsoever for any characters or situations, nor do I even begin to imagine profiting from this.
Thanks: [info]tekiclutch, for reading this over my shoulder, which I don't mind as much as I say I do, and [info]cueballex for for beta-ing this for me and giving me feedback. You are awesome! Have some internet cookies!
