| About: | This is the new home of my fic recs, which used to be hosted on my website Nomad's Realm. I'm very multi-fandom, and I read and rec mostly all gen fic, although I'm not het or slash unfriendly. I do scavenge from other people's recs lists, but I'm also a big archive-trawler, and I rec stories regardless of whether they're new or first posted years ago. I label WIPs but otherwise don't give any content warnings. Allergy Advice: Recs may contain death, darkness, unhappy endings, references to canon relationships, original characters, villains being redeemed, villains not being redeemed, het elements, slash elements, political elements, mathematical elements, bad jokes, and traces of nuts. Rarely all at the same time. What I Rec Harry Potter - Long, canon-style stories; I prefer pure gen, but will usually tolerate a certain amount of shipping amongst the students. Lots of Snape, but I'm not very into other Slytherin characters, or Marauder-era fic. Stargate SG-1 - Gen of any sort. I love the whole original recipe team, with emphasis on Jack. Liked Jonas, am neutral on Mitchell, am growing to like Vala. I love Jacob, but otherwise don't really care for Tok'ra fic. I like crossovers and fics that look at SG-1 from an outsider's point of view. Stargate Atlantis - All things Rodney and Zelenka. Love SG-1 crossovers, not so interested in crossovers with other shows. Not into the fandom's love of crackfic or setting-changed AUs. Star Wars - All things Vader, preferably but not exclusively set in the original trilogy era. I love AUs, and I like stories with sympathetic portrayals of the Imperials. I've read a fair chunk of the EU but don't often read fic set in it. Less Active Fandoms: - Alias (Jack fic, Sloane fic) - Babylon 5 (particularly Bester fic) - Buffy/Angel (mostly Giles fic, especially with Ethan) - CSI (Grissom fic, casefiles) - Discworld (all things Vimes and Vetinari) - Due South (any sort of canon-style gen) - Good Omens (ditto) - Heroes (Nathan, Noah Bennet, ensemble stories) - House M.D. (House-centric gen) - Iron Man (movieverse fic) - Life on Mars (Sam and Gene, 'Sam wakes up' fic) - MacGyver (when I can actually find any fic) - NCIS (Gibbs fic, team fic) - Smallville (messed up Luthor family dynamics) - Sports Night (canon-style gen) - Star Trek TNG (Q, Picard, Data) - Supernatural (John Winchester fic, creepy stories) - West Wing (ensemble gen, some canon ships) - X-Files (casefile type stories) | |
