| Description: | An RPG based on the stereotypes from old noir/detective movies. |

APPLICATION || TAKEN/AVAILABLE CHARACTERS
Pull up a chair and settle in.
The setting is anywhere you want it to be. The story could be anything.
The action takes place in an unnamed city and its environs, somewhere in the United States, during the 1930s. There are bars both sleazy and elegant, restaurants, nightclubs...and plenty of dark alleys. Prohibition is over, and spirits are running high. Let your character wander the streets, get to know the place. You never know who you might bump into. This free RP is where the main plots will happen, where your characters will develop and live the real noir life.
The Bar Nights are the second facet of RP. They will be announced during the week, and we hope to hold them every weekend (from Friday night to Sunday night) in a bar owned by one of the bartenders from the game (generally whoever will have the time to RP the bartender that weekend). Basically, it's a chance to have crackplot, let characters who would normally never associate get to know each other, and generally go crazy outside of any regular storylines. So your character goes to Bar Night and gets knifed by Johnny Thug. So what? He'll be back on Monday (hell, maybe even that same night) kicking ass and taking names as usual. The bar thread will be started by a mod each Friday night.
1. You can post anything you want, as long as it's related in some way to film noir, or murder mysteries in general. Trivia and questions are welcome, but if it's big, put it behind an LJ cut. Please indicate in the subject if it's an OOC post.
2. Respect is the name of the game. No godmodding, no intentionally trying to hurt people's feelings...obviously you all learned this in preschool, so I don't think I need to go into it.
3. This community is slash AND het friendly. Any bashing of sexual preferences will result in banning so fast your ass will burn.
4. Once you've figured out who your character is (obviously it can be a little confusing at first) try to keep them IN CHARACTER. That's what RP is all about, after all.
5. We understand that real life exists, and we know that it sucks, but try to be active occasionally. Once every couple weeks is all we ask of your precious time, for the sake of the other players.
6. No need to create a character account/journal, but you're welcome to if the urge compels you.
7. Swear and use silly slang as frequently as possible (character permitting). Hell, even in your OOC posts, feel free to let loose with the lingo. Lingo is fun! So is swearing! Cool people do it all the time!
To join, see the application post, located HERE. This lets us get a chance to know you, and keep Mary Sues out of the comm. We'll try to approve as fast as we can. After you get your yes, you can join the comm proper and get started. There's a 3 character per person limit for now, but it could change in the future, depending on circumstances. What those circumstances are...I have no idea. But it sounds professional, don't you agree?
