Switched to curly girl (xposted maybe)
I supposed I'm no longer no poo, but curly girl now, since I've been using CO at least 1x per week and now, I'm weaning out the no poo methods because the CO just works so well.  I also started no poo on a quest for longer, healthier hair and I was having a hard time with getting enough moisture with the other methods (namely shikakai, clay poo and even WO).  Well I thought I'd post pictures here because the results are so dramatic.

I've actually posted the first two before, but all together, you can really see the difference.  I hendigo'd in the middle of april.  My hair can be curly or wavy depending on how much moisture it has.  A little oily is a little better.  I do love the CO.

I want your hair.

Maybe I'll give CO a try... I've only had one good hair day like that in the past three months. Bleh.

I've been "no poo" for 3 years. I have never used "no poo" orthodox methods. Too harsh for my baby fine hair. I have almost always been CO. I now use BPH by Aubrey Organics and it's wonderful for curly hair. :)

Your hair looks good.

I'm CO too and my hair is straight like a reed... no wave to speak of. I kinda don't really feel like I totally fit here because CO isn't standard no_poo but I also don't feel like I fit on curly_girls because my hair can't hold a curl to save its life. So welcome to CO-world. It doth rock :)

What conditioner are you using hughe? At first I didn't like CO because it just made my hair bleh. I know it's been mentioned before, but the Suave naturals was the only conditioner I've been able to use so far. I've only used CO since I henna'd about 3 weeks ago, so I did start getting more waves on other no poo methods. I think it was right around week 3 they really started forming.

And thanks for the nice comments. This is the first time in my life I don't hate my hair. And the first time I feel like I might actually be able to grow it to my bra. I really wish I'd found all this stuff 20 years ago.

Anytime you put extra coating on your hair, you run the risk of weighing it down. My hair got flatter.

So, you only use conditioner? How often? Do you do anything else to it?
I'm very new at all this.

Not completely CO, but I'm slowly weaning myself off other methods (I'm sure I'll continue to mix in the other things as I feel I need them). I've been using the terressentials clay poo (it cleans a little too well) probably once a week-ish and then also an occasional shikakai/amla mix. Before I got the terressentials, I'd alternte between the shikakai/amla and WO. That worked okay. The april 1st picture was during that method. I've been alternating washes (I currently wash every other day). Before I'd CO one wash, then clay, then CO, then shikakai/amla, etc. Same with the WO. The last several washes have been CO only and I'm working towards more CO and less other. So far, I like the results I get with CO better. Less initial frizz and less oil on day 2.

Oh I just re-read your question. Yes, when I use conditioner to wash, it's just the conditioner. You slap it on at the beginning of the shower, massage it through and then leave it while you go about your business and then massage some more and rinse it out really well. I follow with a cool water rinse. Out of the shower I use a leave-in product, sometimes Giovanni usually the one I made with Aloe, jojoba, glycerin and distilled water. HTH.
