Hi , I will be connecting a wireless router to comcast, any thoughts on best router ( trouble free ) or other insights. I am getting an apartment at Suburban apartments.

I know it's a bit late in the game, but I'd like to know the low down on the dorms at NIU. I'm an incoming freshman, and due to money being tight at home, I've just put in the prepayment for housing and dining. I porbably won't have much choice, but what dorms do I want to avoid? And can anyone tell me if there's any chance that I might get into the TEACH housing at Lincoln? (I'm thinking it's gotta be full already, but I'd like to try for that if I could). Thanks!

I'm going to be a freshman at NIU this fall, and I'm majoring in education-only there's a slight snag. I'm looking to get my secondary certification for teaching, and all of a sudden, I'm looking at the College of Education's website, and I only see secondary certification for physical education. Now, I know a ton of the teachers at my high school came out of NIU, and a few junior high teachers as well, so I just assumed that secondary certification is possible at Nothern... but I just don't see secondary certification anywhere. And now I feel like I want to throw up. Is it possible to get secondary certification in NIU's College of Education??? Did I just screw up big time, or is this a mistake?

Hey guys, this board has really been a great source of info to me, thanks. I'm getting an apartment next year and will have comcast for my internet service provider and Mcaffee security is included in the price, so I will probably delete the Mcafee security provided by NIU and the Cisco Clean access, my question is will getting rid of Mcaffee and Clean Access cause me any problems accessing the internet on campus i.e ( WiFi, Blackboard, ) or should i just keep NIU Mcaffee and Clean Access ???

Anyone have an exact date as to when in June and how far back they will start showin movies?

I had thought that I had a roommate lined up for the 2009-10 school year, but apparently I don't...

I have an apartment less than two blocks from DuSable Hall that is fairly affordable even with two people (although with three it gets super cheap). My current roommate moves out at the end of June, meaning that I could move someone in as early as late June.

Anybody know where I can get high-speed internet in DeKalb that isn't from comcast? I'm pretty tired of their poor service and mistakes.

-My house does not have a phone. I could correct this, if it wasn't too expensive.

Hey, I am looking for someone who knows how to do things with their student web page (beyond oh look! a page). Particularly, I would like to install a BBS or, failing that, a wiki system in mind, and was wondering if anyone knows how that could be done?

Hi, I know I need to just contact the school, but I was wondering if anyone had done this or had any answers for me...I took a year off from NIU, and am hoping to return in the fall. How do I go about doing this? Do I have to reapply or anything? I never officially withdrew from the university, but I have been out of school for fall 08 and spring 09 semesters. I am also wanting to change my major when I go back. Any insights are much appreciated!
