Gameboy Micro Pics

It's the same Gameboy we all know and love, but even tinier, in a japanesque-fetishistic way.
If only they combined it with my iPod!

"No matter how tight your jeans are, the Game Boy Micro will fit in them"
"At 4 inches wide and 2 inches tall, with a 2-inch screen, it will weigh about 2.8 ounces, or about the same as 80 paper clips, the company said, and contains the brightest screen Nintendo’s ever put in a handheld, according to Fils-Aime. The screen also features brightness adjustability for indoor and outdoor play. It will be released this fall."

So there's no need to worry about the Gameboy and DS competing anymore. :)

Hmmm.... no lit-up screen? I think I'll stick with my SP thank you... I mean I have a messager bag where I keep my ds, cellphone, digi-camera, sp, sketch book, etc... All I just do is throw my sp in my bag when I'm done. Who need to put it in your pocket? Basically it will be still uncomforble in your pocket.. So yah espeacially when you sit down.. >_o

I think the Micro is lit up. I read it in some other post. (not sure if said post was in this community though)

Nintendo would be smart to keep a lit screen; it probably has one since these days you need that light to play conveniently... I used to have a 1st gen GB so I haven't always had a light, but somehow I can't understand how people with GBAs (no afterburner) can put up with playing sans the light.

Color me stupid but doesn't the DS play all your GB and GBA games?!!

And as for the backlit screen, GAME GEAR (ala 1993) had one and it took Nintendo like a billion years to integrate one.

Why?

(Pardon any toe-stepping, i'm a newbie DS owner and also new to the Community.)

Word.

I think it looks cool, it'll go nicely nxt to all my other gameboys...

plues remember nintendo went
gameboy
gameboy pocket
gameboy color
gameboy advance

i missed out virtual boy on purpose... but it really took 3 versions to get a next gen console... this would make advance version 3... so the next version will be the next gen (however using this logic means that the ds takes the place of the virtual boy!)(

This is pure guessing, but I've always thought it had something to do with the Game Gear eating batteries--which is generally a bad thing.

i thought gamegear was front-lit, just like the SP, and the GAMEBOY LIGHT (which nobody knows exists for some dumb reason).

AFAIK, the DS is the first major hand-held w/ backlighting, the PSP would be second, and the Micro would be the third.

The screen is backlit. The SP's is frontlit. It's better lit.

But I still like the SP and DS better.

y'know, for us bigger handed folks, the SP is actually really good. but this is WAY too small. i would like it thinner, but not...smaller like that. this would be good in smaller hands, and more for female hands (no sexism implied) but damn it looks uncomfy to fit in my hands.

plus the screen *will* get scratched up if its banging aorund in my pocket. thats the best partof the clamshell - it gives added protection.

Yeah, clamshell was one of the other best things about the sp, and ds for that matter, less chances of the screen getting messed up, and easier to store in a pocket or loose in a bag or wherever.

I've got female hands, but when I bought the charger pack for my gameboy advance (not sp) I got the one with the cool larger grip things in the back that just fit so comfy in my hands.

And I'm sorry but dang, I've got glasses already are they trying to blind us with that small screen?

it says right under the picture, "and contains the brightest screen Nintendo’s ever put in a handheld"

even if i didn't have a DS i wouldn't buy it. it's way too small. i like to see my games. that and i think nintendo was genius when they came out with a clamshell design. unprotected screen like that just thrown in your pocket is going to get scratched like crazy super quick. i would prefer a SP becuase it protects the screen better, that and i never had a problem with the amount of light given from them. i don't know if brighter is needed.

I'm gonna buy one anyway,
it should end up being very very cheep
that gives Nintendo: GBA, DS, and GBMicro vs Sony's PSP
