| (repost: had some extra suggestions for poll options) in case you missed it, here's my previous post on the subjectStill on the subject of the word "wretching" in the "definitive" lyrics, here's a clipI took the liberty of slowing it down, so there's 3 different speeds in that clip. Forget you already know the words and really listen to the sounds I should have titled the question what do you hear?, but i'm not reposting it a third time. Poll #1211518
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllWhat do you think? I definitely hear a "t", rather than an "n", but I've never been good at discerning sounds. (note: every dictionary on the planet still says "wretching" is not a word)
also: here's the other debated line, crystal clear. any objections?
edit: I expected a difference between the two polls, but i was thought it would be more of a swing towards the t! i expect that people didn't bother to download the clip!

| Cross-posting is bad internet practice, I know, I know, but since not everyone is a member of nin_news (yet!), I'll let you know that: NIN just released A NEW ALBUM!!!This is not a joke.Check out the latest post on nin_news for more info. (Note that you'll have to join the community to be able to read the post!) The relevant parts of nin.com are down, so no point in linking to there. | |

| Hi there! May I please ask a favor? I'm looking for some photos of Trent Reznor with evil mood. I want some Evil T-Rez pics, please. Or some haughty or self-confident Trent pics. I'd be very grateful :)
(sorry for bad English)

can someone please explain to me how nin.com syncs with blogger? is it done with an rss feed? if so - how do you do it? i have a blogger account, and a blog that i'd like to embed into my own website.

| Does anyone remember seeing a website dedicated to the comparison of the Nine Inch Nails to the very peculiar cult cartoon "Space Ghost"?!
It compared Trent Reznor to the alien Zorak, presumably because he spent huge amounts of time sitting behind a massive instrument panel, twiddling things.
I can't find the damn thing, anyway. *pouts*

| Before I get flamed for posting in the wrong section, let me just ask, is anyone having problems accessing the links thru the profile? I am trying to get onto symphony of noise and other sites that have audio (because yes, I am looking for Ripe from The Fragile vinyl) and I can't get into any of them. Anyone know where else I can go to possibly find this?
But my real question is: is it even worth digging up? Are there any differences between Ripe and Ripe (with decay)?
OK flamers...

| Trent just posted about the best possible news ever in his blog on The Spiral:
10/08/07 : big news, pt 1
Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate. Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008. Exciting times, indeed.
Posted here due to lack of nin_news.
EDIT: He also just posted the same announcement on nin.com, so if you need to read it from him yourself, check it out. - mood:bouncy

| I'm not sure if anybody reading has actually watched this video‚ in the beginning it's just Freese going completely off his head with weird special effects and Ally throwing crap at Brett but in the end‚ and quite strangely is an arguement. I believe it's Jeordie and Josh but what they're arguing about is another subject. More so‚ is the arguement authentic or fake? Here's the link for the video. Tell for yourself. | |

| Re: this icon and thousands of live performances just like thisDoes anyone know if Trent has ever gotten the lyrics to closer right live? (if so, when?!) I believe, although i can easily be mistaken, that before WT era, the whispered lyrics were pre-recorded, so they don't count. I've got most of the boots from ninlive.com, so i might spend the day trying to find the answer to this question. oh no! i left them all in another country. Poll #1062421

| cinemablend.com: JIM CARREY got into the dark mindset of his latest movie character by listening to the thumping sounds of NINE INCH NAILS and German industrial rockers EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN.
The actor asked THE NUMBER 23 director JOEL SCHUMACHER to help him come up with an iPod tracklist that would help him get into the tormented mind of his obsessed and insane character WALTER SPARROW for dark scenes in the film. So Schumacher commissioned a hardcore goth-rock expert to create a selection of tracks which Carrey could pump through his headphones in between takes.
According to production notes, these tracks included Nine Inch Nails' MR SELF DESTRUCT, VANADIUM I CHING by Einsturzende Neubauten, SKINNY PUPPY's ADDICTION and SLIPKNOT's WAIT & BLEED. A set source says, "Jim often uses music to help him get into character and this pounding industrial rock really helped him create a dark and manic character."

| you know, i was just thinking.
i can't believe how much trent has matured musically in the last few years (and lyrically, but that's a whole separate topic...). its not meant as a slight to his older albums at all, but he seems to be doing some crazy shit now. 'year zero' is almost a funk album in my opinion, and i love that so much i can't even think about it. he could easily have started heading in the wrong direction considering how into electronics he is, but he went to a whole new level of the right direction. i love his new vocal style. he's adopted a whole new intonation that i can't really describe. it almost sounds smartass at times and actually comes across as more aggressive than his old screaming.
its getting hard to remember that 'the fragile' is my favorite of his albums, probably for all time. this new funky, trip-hoppy thing is just too awesome. it took a long time to get into it. i was initially disappointed with 'with teeth' and i didn't actually start listening to it until i started liking 'year zero'. and THAT one took a lot of bedtime listening. i find that music sinks in and registers better when i'm going to sleep. - mood:don't have to work tomorrow

| Hey all. haumea suggested I post this here, since it's informative and interesting... especially to all those fangirl stalkers Trent's racking up. SquidWho: Trent ReznorI did actually work hard on it, and have some more to add. So enjoy. Conversely, if you like what you see digg it please? Also, there's a lense on probably-soon-to-be-former-live-band-mem ber Jeordie White as well. Oh, and if you guys have any suggestions on junk you'd like to see added to either, leave a comment. Thanks! | |
