I've been reading loads of opinion on this gig, and the general consensus is that it was one of the best ever/this tour. I'm glad it waasn't just me that thought so, and I'm glad I was able to capture some of it on my camera. Sitting on the front row balcony meant that there is little to no camera shake. :-)

I am delighted to announce that I am supporting Google's Gatesian quest for world domination by uploading all my concert videos to its new and rather spiffy alternative to Youtube, here. Unlike Youtube, there is no size limit, so I've been able to upload many clips that I haven't been able to share until now.

What a fantastic gig! I especially loved Sin and La Mer/Into the Void, though it was all absolutely brilliant. They were really on form last night.

The lack of any meet and greet/soundcheck for Spirallers was a disappointment, however much I keep telling myself that those are perks, not rights.

We managed to avoid standing in line for hours, though, since we were staying in the Premier Apartmerts right next to the venue. VERY nice! Oh, and seeing the lunar eclipse after the show was cool too!

ABSOLUTELY FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!

We arrived at the venue soon after four, and saw the Spiral board outside. We went straight there and were ushered inside and given our Spiral tickets, and asked for our cameras and cell phones! They were sealed into an envelope and we were told we'd get them back 'after five o'clock'. Then we were directed to wait in the foyer, where about fifty other people were already waiting. I was gutted at having to give up my camera, but appreciated why later on. ;-)

After a few minutes, we were told to go up to the balcony, where there would be pizza and soft drinks for all! Sure enough, everyone was given a pizza in a box, and a can of Coke, lemonade, water, whatever, and we all took seats in the balcony.

After a short while, someone said "Hi, guys!" and we all turned round with a collective gasp - Trent was in our midst, standing halfway down the balcony! We applauded, and he said that today he wondered if we'd all like to hear the new album!! We cheered, he said he hoped we liked it, and then it kicked in through the (rather good) PA system, at which point he left. :-(
Now I could see why we'd had to hand everything in. His marketing strategy is to 'leak' a song at a time, and if anyone had been able to record and upload it they would have spoiled it.

As for the album itself, I've heard all of it now and it's good. There are some songs I love already, a few are growers, but to be perfectly honest (maybe it was just because the pizza had gone cold!) the last few tracks seemed self-indulgent. Just because he's a techical and instrumental genius and a whizz at production doesn't mean he has to labour the point, you know? Yeah, yeah, heresy. Just my humble opinion. The one track that really stands out for me is Capital G. Ver, very catchy, and reminds me of Marilyn Manson.

Anyway, that took an hour, and we were all told to leave the building and re-join the Spiral line for entry at 6:45.
Incidentally, I met some really nice people in the Spiral line, and had a good chat. It was fun. :-)

The gig itself was amazing. I didn't like Ladytron, just not my thing. NIN came on at 9pm. For five minutes prior to that, the smoke machines had been on and the whole auditorium was covered in fog. Really thick fog. It was so thick that we couldn't see the stage or the band for the first three or four songs at all, and then every time it started to clear, the bloody smoke machines came on again! It was very ,very annoying, especially when many people there had cameras at the ready.
The sound was excellent. Very clear. Whoever was on the mixing desk did a great job. Here's the set list;

I managed to shoot some video on my camera, and the sound's pretty good, so I'm going to upload them to Youtube today. I'll post links later. Ditto the photos; some are rubbish, firstly because of the smoke and then because for some reason the camera kept trying to refocus all the time. I do have a few pretty good ones, though. And I have two more gigs to get it right! ;-)

Merchandise; I got a longsleeved tee for £22, a black tee for £18, two NIN bumper stickers and a book of photos from the 2006 tour. We scoured three separate ladies rooms, but didn't stumble across any flash drives, although as you'll now know, one was found, with another new song and a web link on it. :-)))

Here's a real shitter.....I renewed my membership to Premium back in September of this year so I should still have like almost a full year til expiration (still have yet to get my renewal package by the way). Well I go to log onto the Spiral last week & it says my membership has expired as of December 15, 2006. WTF?!?! Needless to say, I'm uber pissed! I've tried sending messages to SparkArt & can't get a damned response. And since I can't log on, I can't find a phone number to call & get this shit fixed. Anyone know what the phone number is?

Looking for two pit tickets for either or both of these shows. Right now I have seats, which I'm willing to trade, but would really prefer to buy the pit tickets outright (we want to have the option to sit in our seats if the pit gets crazy).

That's me and Ashley!! Right before the show. We both bought hoodies and wore them during the show and it was really freaking sweaty.

The rest of these are just in no order. I had one camera and she had one camera. The ones where their heads are chopped she took. We had a different style of taking pictures. I held mine up and didn't focus. She focused and didn't raise it very high.
