About Welcome to ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} nin_icontest, an icontest community dedicated to everyone's favorite band - Nine Inch Nails! An icontest is simply a contest where you make Live Journal icons based on a challenge for rewards. Winners are then decided on by community members. This community runs on a weekly schedule - every Monday, a new challenge will go up, with a theme of the mod's choosing. It could be anything from "use a screencap from this video" to "no text!", then all you do is submit your entry following those rules. The schedule runs as follows: From the time the challenge post goes up on Monday morning, you have a week to make your icons and get them in. Once the voting goes up on Sunday night, you have until Tuesday evening to get your votes in. Banners will be made and posted (ideally) by the time the voting for the next challenge goes up.  1. Your icon(s) MUST remain anonymous until the current challenge is over and winners are posted. DO NOT USE A CHALLENGE ICON AS A USER ICON. I will be checking from now on, and this results in instant disqualification of the icon in question. 2. Any entries that don't follow the challenge guidelines will be rejected. I will let you know if the icon does not fit the requirements, and will give you time to enter a replacement icon if you wish. 3. Your entries must not be larger than 100x100 or 40k, and may only be in .gif, .jpg or .png format due to LJ specifications. Anything larger is unacceptable. 4. Up to 3 icons per person, unless otherwise stated. 5. You MUST be a member of the community to enter. You do not have to be a member to vote.  1. Upload the icon onto a web host. Imageshack.us or Photobucket.com should do. 2. On the submissions post, comment with both the img src tag and the url of the icon.  |
