Step this way... there is no turning back...” - Nox Arcana - Ghosts of the Midway  The sun is setting, dusk draping the landscape of this foreign land in hues of tainted oranges and reds, the trees and buildings becoming seemingly inky splotches on the canvas backdrop. You hear childish laughter, see a faint wisp of white, yet when you turn to face the figure they’re gone. Eerie enticing melodies call you from down the dusty and worn trail as you find yourself drawn to the faint lights and noises from within the thick forest. Lured inward you find that once you’ve entered this world there is no turning back. Welcome to Nihil. Please, enjoy your stay. Nihil is a world of bizarre happenings, a place where one may say nightmares are fashioned and made. Arriving here without any reason or explanation you find yourself in possession of not only a key (I wonder what it opens?) but also a ticket – a passport into the realm of the unknown. Many places make Nihil the strange and twisted land that it now is; however it is what lies at its core that makes it truly the world it is to this day. An unnamed carnival resides within the depths of the forest, seemingly abandoned and its equipment shoddy and worn. It’s quiet, the atmosphere heavy with a certain static to it. Not a living soul seems to haunt this place, yet once the sun sets, its warmth leaving the land, the carnival springs to life. Carousels twist and go round and round, their music enticing and haunting while within the Funhouse one can get lost in the depths of their own reflection. The cast of this play are long since deceased, although the Ringmaster has not. Instead he’s decided to create a new act. A new coming attraction if you will – You. Nihil is also not a roleplay for those who are offended easily or dislike plot. Make sure to read over the rules and FAQ carefully before deciding if this roleplay is right for you.
