| About: |  Midnight Syndicate is two guys, Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka, who compose gothic symphonic albums, both chilling and hauntingly beautiful. To date they have five albums out: "Born of the Night", "Realm of Shadows", "Gates of Delirium", "Vampyre: Symphonies from the Crypt", and the official rollplaying soundtrack for "Dungeons and Dragons". They also put out a self-titled album, but I really don't know anything about it except that it is pretty unique in it's own right. More info (and audio from their albums!) can be found at their official site. Visit. They do a better bio then I do ;-) The music itself is very unique. It isn't random instrumental music because it has a definate focus, but it's not a score either because it isn't based on defined images, so to speak. The idea is they give you a basic storyline and/or setting, and you make the rest up in your head while you listen, using the tracklistings as a guide, or not. It's like how you can imagine a movie in your head while you listen to the music from it, except you are making up the movie yourself. And it can be different every time.  I waited forever for someone to make a community for this awesome musical duo, and when no one did I decided to take up the torch myself. I've never had an LJ community before and my skillz are shodddy, but please bear with me. | |
