Hi all!

Tonight we attempted Dr. Khan's new task force, set at level 50 difficulty. With care and perserverence, we fought our way through the level 50 Arachnos troops attacking City Hall, along with notorious elite bosses from the Rogue Isles. However, when we got to the Fifth Column's Archvillain, Schadenfreude, we were stopped. After attempts for quite a while by our team to take down the +4 AV, we strategically withdrew and resumed kicking the stuffing out of the Arachnos around City Hall. After Schadenfreude, even the level 50 Nictus Crystal menacing Azuria (who we TOTALLY RESCUED) weren't a big problem.

Though the game was not providing us with information about Schadenfreude in our combat logs, we deduced he must have draining powers similar to Arahkan. So we re-entered the base, Master Arcanum invisbily snuck by him and assembled the team in the far back. We then cleared the entire base and attacked him not in the little corner we'd used before, but in the big room. And we stayed FAR AWAY from him as much as possible.

We took him down!

THE TASK FORCE IS STILL ON!!! And most of us got to level 47. We were getting around 2500 xp just for minions!

After completing our Quaterfield TF last week, I made some offhand comments about an ITF on Champion. That is NOT happening -- a quick review of our roster on Champion confirmed we didn't have the roster for it.

This week we'll be working on our 45ish characters as we move toward the big 50!! We are about half-way through Tina MacIntyre's arc so we can crank up the difficulty and still run her stuff for a little bit. Also, police band missions may be in the offing.

Quaterfield Task Force Finale!!

Just a little reminder that tonight's Wednesday and we'll be pushing on with our Quaterfield TF. Third Quater, actually.

Hey Paladinos! Just a little reminder, what with Memorial Day throwing a lot of people off, that today is Wednesday! I'll see you guys in the Shadow Shard!

Hi folks! Tomorrow at 7 we'll be forming our Quaterfield task force group. I'd like to get a rollcall/confirmation of everyone coming! (So I know that you haven't forgotten or had something come up...)

Especially important, we have 7 regulars confirmed and 3 alts: Naienko, Kviri, and Xany. Nai is your character to 40? If not, Kviri are you claiming the spot? Or will it go to Mr. Stopheles?

This week on the Paladins of the Night, we're taking a break from the low level 40s team and doing Other Stuff™. Now, what IS Other Stuff™? Glad you asked. It's misc missions people want to do and/or need help with, preferably lower level characters other than the current 40s.

If we don't have enough to do, my backup plan is to bring out my level 22ish Sonic/Dark Defender and run through Mercedes Sheldon's arc if enough level-appropriate people are available. Trips over to the Champion branch are also not out of the question.

So, who has something they want the team to tackle?

In the meantime next week is Quaterfield Task Force, so if you're an alt for it, be sure to get your character to at least 40 by then!

Today's Wednesday and we'll be working on more of Tina MacIntyre's missions. Next week we'll take a break from the regular 40s and do Something Else;™ the week after it's Quaterfield.

Hi Gang,

I just wanted to give you all a quick update. We had our usual Wednesday session and kicked ridonkulous ass. We had to do a few general missions before all the regulars who could had Tina's arc. We fought the Psychic Clockwork King [Emancipator badge] as an AV (with 5 people), visited the Hydra world [Multidimensional badge] and started in on the Praetorian War arc. We got the famous "10 minute" timed mission and cleared it with almost six and a half minutes to spare! After that we did the mission where "time is distorted" and you have to find a scientist and click a few glowies. That's where we stopped for the night.

After our weekly session, a lot of the team is now at 42.5 and likely will be hitting 43.5 next week. The TF is XP until 44.9 so it does seem we'll hit the XP cap about 2/3 of the way through, but that's probably still our best bet. We'll have 100+ merits to comfort us if we have 1 playsession where we're at the TF level cap.

Hi everyone, just a quick reminder that it's Wednesday and we'll be starting with Tina MacIntyre's content. We will likely be handed the Psychic Clockwork mission first, which ought to be pretty easy since my Phantom Army can take his alpha.

Generally, since Tina's content gets done a lot due to the Praetorians in it, I'd like to book it through her missions rapidly and not bother clearing maps.

All seven of the usually-every-week people have confirmed they're in for Quaterfield, so there is only 1 spot possibly open. Nai spoke up for it first, but her character isn't of level yet so if she doesn't get to 40 by the 20th then it may be available.

I have a work dinner this evening. I probably won't be home until 8/8:30. Go forth and slay for great justice!

How many of you folks use Google Calendar and would it be helpful if I created a Paladins calendar where our scheduled events are mapped out? (That way if you don't check LJ you may still see a SG event on your calendar.)

I know there is already a generic CoH LJ calendar; this would be a completely separate thing.

Last night the Paladins celebrated Earth Day with the Devouring Earth! We leisurely smashed our way through the Eden Trial in under 2 hours and collected our six merits. The subject of the measly reward brought up the game's current motherlode, the Quaterfield Task Force's 111 merit reward. The point was made that we are actually, for the most part, in the natural level range of Quaterfield. If the Paladins were to run Quaterfield with the difficulty on Heroic, it would be pretty much just like any other weekly session for us; the only thing different would be that the regular team was locked into TF mode which has its pros and cons.

So that is what is going to happen. In our latest feat of Oh Yes We Did, the Paladins of the Night are going to run the Quaterfield Task Force for XP. We do need to get 1-2 more levels on the regulars which will bring most of them from 41.5 up to 42-43; a couple will just hit 40. The TF is capped at 44 which means enemies at about 44-45.

Next week we'll begin Tina Macintyre's arc in the mean time. Her arc is worth 29 merits, so I encourage everyone to get her so that we can all autocomplete. She can be introduced by Maxwell Christopher or Gordon Stacy, so I am asking the regulars to login their characters in the next couple days and talk to your natural origin contacts (even if you have to go back down the chain) and see if they will introduce you. If a couple people can't get introduced that way we'll run radio missions.

Because the TF caps player level at 44 I want to start it as soon as possible after ensuring we have Tina's Arc active. If we have a really good week next time, we might be able to start the TF the following week (May 6). More likely we'll need 2 weeks before we start it, in which case May 13.

For the TF, we'll break it into however many sessions we need to finish it, I'm guessing 3. I'm pre-reserving slots for the long time regulars: myself, winged murasaki, doc aeon, howler, and ec. Tam and Sno, you guys usually run with us but not always, so think about whether you want in on this multi-week event. Sno, you don't have to catch up to 42 like the rest of us, I just think that most of us need to be there; as long as you can enter the TF that's fine. EC's character is a little behind too. After you guys have decided if you're in, I'll offer the remaining 1 or 2 slots to other Paladins, with preference given to those who can XP off it.

And, that's a plan!

Last week, the Paladins of the Night discovered the horrible truth about the transformation of Woodvale into the Devouring Earth's "Eden." Years ago they had captured the Woodsman and used the magic in his soul along with their nanotech Will of the Earth plague to transform the community. They have held him ever since, researching and refining ways to use him again on a larger scale. Though the Paladins freed the Woodsman's soul, the damage had been done and the minions of the Hamidon are ready to act! Now the Devouring Earth have kidnapped four elemental heroes and are preparing to repeat the catastrophe on all of Paragon City!

Tonight, the Paladins will be working with the Soul of the Woodsman to rescue the four captured heroes and to defeat the Devoured Earth's newest champion, The Crystal Titan! [Note: this will NOT be a "Speed-en" run.] Here is the current expected battle roster:

As this task force requires only 4 members, we are on for running it even though we only have 5 confirms at this point. The TF is permanently scaled to level 40 so we'll run it on Heroic to offset our numbers. Jurassik may be a little tricky for us but with 2 Dark Defenders debuffing I think we're ok. However, Shivans wouldn't hurt and probably some of us have them.

I'll also accept signups from coalitioned groups at this point.

Meet in the Paladin base at 7 to form team, and then I expect to start the TF at 7:15.

Dr. Aeon pointed out to me that i14 has tampered with storage settings, apparently on a per-container basis. Unfortunately, the new default security level is completely locked-down. I'll fix that this evening as soon as I can, but in the meantime if anyone is on before then and suddenly can't get inspirations -- this is why.

The weekly team has been a bit unfocused the last few weeks, so let's plan in advance right now. Next week we'll be running Numina's Task Force. Please sign up below; if more than 8 sign up, priority will go to the weekly regulars.

Mission Architect is going live today: do you guys want to skip weekly paladin teaming to play with the new stuff?

If not, keep in mind there should be some last-minute patching, and thus play would likely not start until 7:30 tonight.

Update: As @Doc Aeon has pointed out, "We also need to keep in mind that Virtue may buckle under the strain." So, if we do team we would probably need to hop to the Champion alts as well.

Myself I am inclined to just skip tonight. @_@
