| I received a termination notice from my current roommate with no reason as to why (yes, seriously). We had some business dealings that fell through, but I believe that should not be considerable cause for termination of a lease. When inquired as to when she would be giving me my deposit, she has ignored my phone calls and texts (she is out of state). ARGH! What to do?
Also, if anyone is looking to sublease their apt or looking for a roomie. Feel free to shoot me a msg. :) Budget is 1,000

| Well, well, well. The New York Times is getting out of the radio biz and is selling WQXR to ::drumroll:: WNYC. Univision is also involved; its Spanish-language music station will take the 96.3 spot on the dial and WQXR is moving to 105.9. More details here.- Mood:curious

| I'm in desperate need for colored tape (preferably duct tape) in colors other than black and silver...purple, pink, yellow...for this weekend and have no idea where to look. The place i always got them is in New Jersey and I can't get there.
Anyone know where i can go? i'm willing to travel a bit. Manhattan and Brooklyn would be best though

| You know, as in the folks who sit up in the little booth at the back of the theater. Seems like there is a union, but I couldn't figure out where one might go to get training.. any insight much appreciated..
Cheers :) - Mood:curious

| How do Will Call tickets work? Im attending a show at Nokia theatre this weekend, am I supposed to go there a bit earlier before lines and get actual tickets from some counter? Or am I supposed to wait on line til we are let in and present my ID stuff then? | |

| dear new yorkers,
i called some temp agencies and i'm like, "what up, temp agencies? when can i come in and get this shit rolling?"
and temp agencies were like, "sorry, dude. you can't come in. email us your resume."
is this shit typical?
should i just go in and act like i didn't know?
are they just feeding me a line of bullshit because they are lazy and don't want to deal with me?
any advice you could give me would be great.

| I've signed a lease for an apartment in Woodside starting July 31. Everything seemed to be going pretty well, but one confusing issue came up. Apparently, we have to pay for heat & hot water, but only insofar as it's connected to electricity and gas. Or ... something like that.
The lease agreement says that the Owner is required to provide utilities as regulated by the law (which are heat and hot water, to the best of my knowledge), while the Renters have to pay for electricity and gas. However, the owner is saying that our electricity and gas will also pay for the heat and hot water.
Does this make sense? Is this normal for NYC apartments?
