I know it's past the dealine, but reading the last entries has proven to me that the last time anything's been posted here was...April.
So I have a "Musicals" drabble. I can't believe this hasn't been done yet. SkyMasterson!Race? Come on...
Drabble Character: Racetrack Newsie: Dutchy Rating: G __________ "Whatsa matter, Race? Nobody told the horse? Again?" "Oh, funny. Real funny, Cowboy. You know that I coulda' done it if I'd have--" Jack fumbled in his pocket and found a pair of dice. "What's that for?" "'Think ya still got what it takes?" Racetrack took the dice. He was desperate to prove to Jack that he still had the touch. A couple of not-so-hot days at the track had cost his reputation big time, and he wasn't happy. He was determined. That was Race, short and stubborn. He kissed the dice and whispered. "Luck be a lady tonight."

Title: Madam Libraaaaaaaaarian Newsie: David Pairing: Javid Rating: G Notes: I am on SUCH CRACK. Good Lord. (It's The Music Man, by the by.)
The two old friends leaned back against the stable.
“So what’s the verdict, Race?”
“Piece of cake, Jack. River City’s as green as the dough you’re gonna take for them.”
Jack grinned. “Just what I like to hear.”
“Boys’ bands.” Race shook his head. “Genius, Jacky-Boy, how’d you think of that?”
“I’m a professional, Racetrack. So there’s no one to blow the whistle on the sale?”
“Well…” Race chewed his lip. “…There is this librarian. Jacobs.”
Jack scoffed. “She’ll be no problem. Just gotta turn on the old Kelly charm…”
“David. He’s a he, Jack.”
Jack grinned again. “Even better.”

Title: Giantkillers, Inc. - Part II Newsie: David Pairing: Javid, if you squint Rating: G Notes: This may be only funny to me. The lines are stolen (and beaten to within an inch of their life) from "Giants in the Sky" (which was sung adorably at Wall-to-Wall Sondheim by Michael Arden, who was in Bare with Aaron Lohr - omgnewsiesconnection!) from Into the Woods.
"There are giants in the sky!"
Jack raced into the office, slamming the door open and nearly ripping it off its hinges, his eyes wild. "There are big tall terrible giants in the sky!"
David stared at him from behind the desk. "What?"
Jack smiled winningly, smoothing down his hair. "It's our new slogan. Don't you like it?"
David frowned. "It doesn't have anything to do with slingshots..."
"Not everything has to have a slingshot in it, Dave."
"No. Just everything good."
“I’m starting to get concerned about this little fixation of yours, Jacobs…”
“Practicality is not a fixation, Kelly…”

I can't believe I'm actually posting this. Eek.
Based loosely off of Les Mis. Not meant to be taken at all seriously, though a hundred words isn't quite enough words to capture the ridiculousness inherent in Cosette/Marius.

Because I want to come up with prompts that really appeal to you guys, I'd like to hear any suggestions that you might have. And in order to do that, I'm creating this post. It will be permanently linked to in the user info of the community, so that you will always be able to find it.
So here's the deal: If there's a prompt that you'd like to see featured during a weekly challenge, just comment here. It can be a word, a picture, a phrase. Anything, really, that you think would be fun. Nothing's too crazy, I promise. I can't tell you when your prompt will be used, but chances are that all of them will be used at some point.
Comment with suggestions as often as you like.
Thanks in advance. :)

Hullo again! I come bearing a new prompt. And the news that Blink is reigning king of the newsies. All hail Blink! Long live the king!
Final scores:
Blink: 2 Mush: 1 Race:1
To get the party going again, I'm going to reprise an old prompt that was a lot of fun. This week, the drabble prompt is musicals. It can be a crossover, using the same themes as a musical, using lyrics...whatever your heart so desires, as long as it generally pertains to musicals.
As a general note, I'm going to be creating a permanent entry to use for posting ideas for drabble challenges. It will be linked to in the user info, so if anyone wants to suggest something for the weekly challenge, you may always feel free to do so there.
Have fun!

Newsie: spot Pairing: jack/spot Rating: pg Author Notes: well, the challenge never closed so I'm just posting to that myth one. *thnks there must have been some conspiracy that has kept everyone from posting* *isn't cool enough to know about it* *cries and posts anyways*
Jack reached the top of the hill first and laughed at his victory. Behind him Spot growled and shook his head. The blue eyed boy’s eyes laughed though and so Jack continued to preen, his pail of water swinging in the air. “Get the damn water already!” Spot sulked, smarting from his defeat. “What are you going to do if I don’t?” Spot’s reply was lost as both boys pounced forward in a flurry of limbs. Spot’s foot shot forward too soon, and Jack went flying backwards down the hill. Jack’s hand shot forward, caught, and Spot came tumbling after.

Title: Beast Newsie: David Pairing: Javid Rating: G Author Notes: This was ridiculously hard to fit in 100 words and sounded a lot better before I cut it down, so I blame most of its deficiencies on the word constraint. Also, yay for fairy tale class. That is all.

Title: Leda Newsie: Boots Rating: PG Notes: Random conversation between Blink and Specs.
"I found this book, about Greek myths, and Blink, Zeus really seems like your kinda guy." "Oh?" "Yeah. Insatiable lust." "Haha." "No, seriously, though. Remember your girl from last Tuesday?" "Hah, yeah...goosey-lookin’..." "Get this. Zeus cheated on his wife with some queen-" "So?" "while in the form of a swan." "No shit. Those Greeks, man…” “Hah, really though. I read it and thought of you.” ”Nice. Wait, so does that mean –she- was Zeus?” “Uh…? Heh. I guess that means you’d be the one to pass an egg that hatches into a goddess.” “In my dreams, buddy, in my dreams."
