Hi and welcome to NEWS_JPOP! This community is devoted to one of Johnny's Entertainment popular group, NEWS, which currently consists of Yamashita Tomohisa, Nishikido Ryo, Koyama Keiichiro, Masuda Takahisa, Tegoshi Yuya and Kato Shigeaki. Other members, Uchi Hiroki and Kusano Hironori, have graduated from their trainee ranks and are currently doing solo activities until further notice. Share your pictures, media, news or just talk about the boys of NEWS by joining the community! You won't regret it!

  3. All entries posted should, obviously, be related to NEWS or any of its members. Solo activities count.

  4. RESPECT your fellow fans - no bashing or flaming. no spamming or causing internet dramas, either. Many of the community members put a LOT of effort into providing you with your fangirl needs. Please, please give them the respect they need. Let's be a one big happy family!

  5. Copyrighted media (i.e. MP3s / PVs / perfomances / TV shows) and any posts related to copyrighted media (including, but not limited to, reprint and concert tickets re-sales) must be friends-locked.

  6. Absolutely no reposting of media (music/video/scans) without full credit and granted permission, if applicable.

  8.   11. PLEASE tag all posts appropriately. If you don't know which tag to use, just leave it blank and the mods will do it for you.

  12. Remember to put any large images under an lj-cut, because there are a lot of people with slow internet connections. And you wouldn't want to break their f-list layouts, right?

November 7, 2003: Release of NEWS Nippon single exclusive to 7-11 stores, used for the 2003 world women's volleyball championship.

December 2003: Ex-member Moriuchi Takahiro leaves, making NEWS an 8-member group

May 12, 2004: Release of official debut single, Kibou ~Yell~, and reaching #1 on Oricon

August 11, 2004: Release of Akaku Moyuru Taiyou single

March 16, 2005: Release of Cherish single

April 27, 2005: Release of first album Touch

July 13, 2005: Release of TEPPEN single, suspension of member Uchi Hiroki for drinking underage in public

January 2006: Member Kusano Hironori faces underage drinking scandal and withdraws voluntarily for indefinite amount of time

March 15, 2006: 6-member NEWS release Sayaendou/Hadashi no CINDERELLA BOY, NEWS goes on a 1-year hiatus

November 15, 2006: Swedish release of TegoMass (members Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa)'s Miso Soup (english version) single

December 12, 2006: Japanese release of TegoMasu's Miso Soup (japanese version) single, re-release of Sayaendou PV

January 2007: Comeback perfomance at Johnny's Surprise Countdown 2006/2007, return of NEWS as 6 members, return of members Uchi and Kusano as trainees

February - March 2007: Spring concert tour 2007 starts and ends, release of 2007/2008 calendar, release of Hoshi wo Mezashite single
