"Code Blue" confirmed: Yamapi, Gakky, Toda

Rumors of a Fuji TV drama series titled "Code Blue" were confirmed on Thursday. The show has assembled a cast packed with young stars and established veterans, led by NEWS member Tomohisa Yamashita.

The drama's full title is "Code Blue: Doctor Heli Kinkyu Kyumei." The concept is based on Japan's proposal for an emergency medical service using helicopters to quickly reach those in need. A special bill was passed in June 2007 that should foster widespread adoption of the system.

Yamashita stars as a young doctor-in-training, working under the guidance of an experienced "flight doctor" (Toshiro Yanagiba). Some scenes will be filmed with a real helicopter, adding to the show's tension.

The supporting cast includes Yui Aragaki, Erika Toda, Manami Higa, Yosuke Asari, Kiyoshi Kodama, Ryo, Tetta Sugimoto, Susumu Terajima, and Masanobu Katsumura.

Fuji TV will broadcast "Code Blue" on Thursday nights at 10:00pm, starting sometime in July.

I love med dramas and now Yamapi is in one!! ^^
OMG!! they have already done promo pics!! Eekkk!! looks good!! ^^
WOW!! Using real helicopters this would be great as it will promot the whole helicopter to medical emergencies more!!

I went onto the website and the helicopters look really cool!!!

Code Blue......uh...that usually means cariac arrest...but lets hope there is another meanings...does seem to be wearing blue uniforms! >

Ooh, Yamapi in a real helicopter? I remember he wasn't too fond of them back in the 0304 dvd. Then again, he's totally professional. Good for him for facing his fear. ^_^

Plus, Pi in scrubs? Yes, please! XD

heyy isn't yamapi is that guy who freaked out when rode a heli in news 0304,
i checked the bns sub yeah he's the guy that doesn't let go of the handle, hahaha
sugoii na, i bet he's trying a lot to overcome his fear of riding heli.
but he did say he's gonna ride it again....(in Code Blue:p)

Interesting. Yamapi as a medical intern in training. Should also be interesting to see how Yamapi does at all of the code blues he has to go to. I'm sure he'll have some intense and stressful scenes trying to save people from cardiac arrest.
