| About: | Welcome. This is a community about and for the students of the State University of New York at New Paltz, as well as the residents / aficionados of the town of New Paltz, New York. Feel free to post anything regarding SUNY New Paltz, or just New Paltz, or even the greater New Paltz area (Ulster County, Poughkeepsie, etc.). It's strongly recommended that you check out the memories feature before posting a question. There's a 90% chance that the answer to your question is somewhere in there. What this community is appropriate for and friendly towards: Announcements about events in the area. Announcements or questions about events taking place at the college. Prospective students inquiring about what the college is like. Almost anything (frustrations, exaltations, and so on) about life at New Paltz, be it academic, social, dormitorial (?), medical, or nonsensical (and thus typically New Paltz). Promotions of clubs, organizations, radio shows, meetings, lectures, concerts, and other functions. Rants (please keep them tame, though) about your professors, the ducks, your roommate, your ridiculously overpriced rent, or the lack of parking spaces on campus. Questions about or advertisements for jobs, books you want to buy or sell, and available housing options in the area. Announcements about problems on campus (snow days, internet issues, blackouts, etc). You get the basic idea. What this community is NOT appropriate for and NOT friendly towards: Spam of any kind. Advertisements of other communities not related to New Paltz. Trolls/serial adders. TYPIN ONLY IN ALL CAPS LIEK DIS OMG!!!11. Drama. Flamewars. Gratuitous rudeness and general assholery.
