NOLA Rising reportedly wins over the Gray Ghost

According to a text message we received from NOLA Rising (which stated “VICTORY IS MINE OVER RADTKE!”) and a message on the local artist’s blog, it looks like Michael Dingler has emerged victorious in the battle he was forced into by Fred Radtke, a.k.a. The Gray Ghost. Dingler reportedly faced over $50,000 in fines for placing free art around New Orleans and was “turned in” (my words, not Dingler’s) by Radtke. Supposedly Radtke stormed out of the courtroom following the verdict. Dingler promises more details on his blog later today.

Congratulations to Michael!

Thank god. I can't stand that bastard Radtke. He's nothing but a catalyst for more tagging.

the other day, headed uptown on prytania, I saw a graffiti rhinocerous pooing. I had to do a double take. someone had boxed in the stupid grey patches which happened to be in the shape of a husky quadruped, and filled in the details with pink spray paint. LOL!!

Free art my ass. If you are over the age of two and write on walls that are not yours than you belong in jail.

Radtke does it more than anyone in the city.

I agree with you (maybe not about automatically belonging in jail, but that it is wrong to deface other people's property). This case was about signs (some wood, some paper) that were in some instances on people's private property through their own free will and admittedly in some public places (which, if technically illegal, then fine--tell the guy he can't do it and fine him if need be, but a) it's not up to a private citizen like Radtke to decide to try and bankrupt the guy and b)it's not worth $50,000 in fines).
