First show is this Saturday, July 11th!

is anyone else as excited as me for stellastarr's new album?!?!?!?! it's called "Civilized" and comes out july 7th.

i can't stop listening to "grafitti eyes". it's one of my all time fave tracks by them. theyve got some other new songs on the myspace too, they sound pretty good! listen to it here.

they're playing a show in NYC on july 16th at the highline ballroom, i definitely plan on going to check this out!

Sans Nomenclature is looking for a bass player

Sans Nomenclature came about when Boston musician Leon Rich (http://www.leonrich.com), a well-known local songwriter and performer whose presence has graced various stages in New England, including The Cantab, Jacques, The Abbey Lounge, The Middle East, and The Skybar, approached Anderson Mar with the idea of starting a spinoff project that put an unusual treatment on various well-known classic and alternative rock tunes.

Leon Rich has been described as "the Frank Zappa of Boston" due to the innovative and unusual subject matter in his songs, such as "Dead Squirrels" and "Dead Christians". He was voted one of The Music Connection Top 100 Artists of 2008. His writing style is strong on melodic structure and vocal harmonies.

Anderson Mar is the former vocalist of Solace and Gallows Hill, and CEO/Owner of Dark Sky Productions, an artist and event management and booking agency. Formerly the entertainment manager at the now-defunct Skybar (Somerville, MA), Anderson now divides her time between running the Paul Green School of Rock in Watertown (http://www.schoolofrock.com/boston) and producing 4-6 concerts per month at various Massachusetts-based venues. Stylistically, her singing voice is described as "Amanda Palmer-meets-the-female-version-of-Danzig".

Renee Solano is the founder of Talking Mule Productions (http://www.talkingmule.com) and has recently located from Santa Cruz, CA to the Boston area. Under the Talking Mule Productions umbrella, Renee offers drum lessons for all levels (ages 6 and up) guitar and bass lessons for beginners, and drums and vocals for bands. She has been teaching and playing professionally all over the Bay Area since 2002, and has a strong background in both jazz and rock musicianship.

The name Sans Nomenclature is derived from a Kierkegaard quote, "When you label me, you negate me," and was chosen because the band defines labels, genres, and classifications. Cover band, but not GB. Heavy at times, but not metal. Minor key, but not goth. Recognizable songs, but in no way mainstream.

Suburban Boston, MA (USA) – Since 1993, Dark Sky Productions has played host to some of the finest live music entertainment in New England, in many of Boston's most historic night venues. It is with great honor that Dark Sky announces an event that will celebrate the past, the present, and the future of recorded music. On Friday night, July 3rd, Dark Sky Productions alongside SK3 will present LEGACY, taking place Downstairs In the Cantab Underground (Cantab Lounge, 738 Massachusetts Avenue, Central Square, Cambridge, MA), and it will be an evening never to be forgotten.

LEGACY will be a night of firsts for the Boston nightlife scene. The name represents a celebration of the ongoing history of music, a legacy which shall never end. It is a new theme night concept which brings together nearly 150 years of recorded music history together into a single theme, a rare feat on any nightlife circuit. Unlike the competition, LEGACY will feature more than just one or a few related musical genres; all musical genres from throughout the generations are represented, including pop, rock, hip-hop, dance, reggae, funk, soul, R&B, punk, blues, jazz, country, classical, goth/industrial, and countless others.

All of this music will be brought to LEGACY by Boston's newest name on the DJ circuit, DJ Sterling Golden (DJSG). DJSG is Boston's first iPod DJ on the major circuit, and he will be bringing the most eclectic set ever heard in any New England night venue. One can expect to hear DJSG spin the finest acts in the local Boston music scene (past and present), the legends of yore, the superstars of today, the cutting edge sounds of the future, tunes spanning the globe, the hottest jams on the Top 40, dispatches from that left-of-the-dial realm of the underground...and beyond.
