Guests Of Honor: Tod Wills & Tilt Longtail
As you wallow in the sticky armpit of summer a beastly horror approaches. Its name? McLovin. But just behind that horror is another, even more deformed horror called FurFright. It’s a Halloween-themed anthropomorphic convention run by fans, for fans. We work hard so it doesn’t suck . . . a lot.
FurFright has a coveted place in history as “The World’s Largest Anthropomorphic Convention In Waterbury, Connecticut”. It’s also known as the con that doesn’t take itself too seriously. We’re 7 years old and almost 1000 attendees strong. Big enough to frolic gaily with all our friends, but small enough to be personal, intimate, and laid back. No long lines and waiting 12 hours for a toilet, just girlish tittering and shenanigans.
We’ve got events and attractions like: Free Food Friday Furpocalypse (a night club with FREE food and game shows), the Dealers’ Dungeon and Artist Alley, 2 Fursuit Parades, Dances with music that doesn’t suck, Dance and Costume competitions, tons of Panels and Discussion groups, two huge Game Rooms (video and table top), Fursuit Games, the best Masquerade in the fandom, a FREE photo studio, and lotsa more!
For more info visit www.furfright.org
In This Issue: 1) Hotel Rooms Still Available & Room Placement 2) Run A Panel/Class/Discussion Group (and be POPULAR!) 3) Have Your Artwork & Stories Published 4) Gamers Wanted!

| Hello everyone. That date below is right. I’m planning a gaming meet in one week! Sorry about the late notice, the recovery from Anthrocon took longer than I thought. So I hope there is still enough time for everyone who wants to make it to work it into their plans, if not please accept my apologies.
Where: Middletown, CT (driving directions to be sent with RSVP) When: Sunday, July 19th - Noon , till 10:00 pm. Who: All the gamers that can make it.
As usual please RSVP for the gaming meet so I can make sure I have enough space. And if you need direction to my place let me know and I'll include them in my reply. Email me at spot*weld*@*hot*mail.com (remove the *'s). Or just reply to this message. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions as well.
Also, I’m going to pre-announce a planned BBQ/Picnic & Gaming Meet in Aug. at Fenris’ place in Bethel, CT. The meet was an excellent success with lots of good food and good gaming. There will be an official announcement early next month, but if you’re interested in attending feel free to let me know now.

| Alright everyone.....in slightly less than a week the hubby and I, along w/ Belic and K'gra, will be hosting Furfright's annual Art Jam at our house. This is to give the bear and leopard a break from the craziness of Furfright planning. Last year was a blast, and this year should be even better. Why? I'm so glad you asked....... ;3
Every year, Furfright gathers local artists willing to sit and draw their paws off creating for badges, con-book art, t-shirts....you name it! Heck, stories and poems are also welcome! Thelink is to their submissions page, so all pertinant info can be found there. Want to submit something and also hang w/ other artsy types? While nomming tasty tasty ice cream? Come to the FurFright Annual Art Jam and Ice Cream Social! Clint and I will be supplying the ice cream, you guys bring along your favorite toppings to share! We do a make-your-own- sunday and then, fueled by the power of sugar, create submissions for the convention! Sugar fueled art? Yesssssss!
So if you or someone you know would be interested, drag em' along! Simply respond to Kilrein@gmail.com and let us know who is coming, and how many. Also, feel free to post here what topping you'll be bringing. This way we don't have 12 gallons of hot fudge and nothing else! ;D
The Location: Meriden, CT 06451 (Email Clint for address) The Date: Saturday, July 18th The Time: 12 noon until everyone laspes into a sugar coma, or gets tired and goes home...whichever comes first.
Again, PLEASE RSVP to kilrein@gmail.com.. we need to plan how much ice cream to get/make (yes, we are making a batch of super yummy chocolate peanut butter expresso ice cream. Whoot!) The sooner, the better. If you need a contact phone # in case you get lost, ask via email! :3
Parking is on street, just don't block anyone's driveway. Also, there are a number of chinese/pizza joints nearby, so if at some point everyone decides we need 'real' food, we can order delivery. Bring cash/small bills for ease to splitting the tab. ;p
Thanks, and hope to see ya all there! Weeeee!
PS....we have both canine and feline family members, so if you have allergies, you have been warned!
~Dani & Clint
PPS.....I've been advised to mention that this isn't a general Furmeet, but an actual working gather for Artists wanting to submit finished art to Furfright for publication. I truly appreciate the interest, but if you aren't looking to do artwork for the con to use, and are just wanting to drop by and hang out w/ others furries/fur friendlies, ya might want to try another gather. Lonnie and K'gra are slave drivers, and will beat those not working w/ an ice cream scoop! ;D | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| Whoot, that time of the week: super generic announcement for the RI Furmeet!
Today at 5pm Meeting in the food court, outside of Subway Free art, good food, new friends, etc. Whoop!
And because we've been having problems with this lately: a) This is a friendly meet for the area furs to make new friends. It's not a hotel room. Not a super furry yiffy funtime sex castle. Nobody wants to have to watch that crap.
b) Please don't bring unnecessary melodrama with you.
Let's keep our meets a friendly, positive experience for everyone. Hope to see you all there! | comments: Leave a comment |
| Cross posted to newenglandfurs and nyfurries...
Hey fellow furs. I'm in a bit of a bind. The proverbial brown stuff has hit the proverbial cool wind producing object, and I need a room mate. FAST. The room is $300-400 a month (before bills), a nice little spot in the heart of Downtown Albany NY. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a crudhole.
Everything is on a bus line, or within walking distance, so you don't need a car, further saving you money.
About the only thing expensive is winter heating (electric), but I think that can be expected, given it's the Northeast.
It's a nice 2 room, 2 bedroom, one kitchen/bathroom apartment. I tend to stay in my room online all the time, so most of the rest of the place would be free reign to the other person.
More details to come if I generate any interest, please leave comments, messages, or hit me on AIM (my AIM name is in my userinfo)... | comments: 14 comments or Leave a comment |
| | To celebrate my birthday, just figured I'd let everyone here know in case someone wanted to try and organize a get together for a minor celebration of it. I'll be turning 29 for the second time on the 13th. Anyway, back to lurk mode... *transforms into a boom box* | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| The weatherguessers are saying saturday is gonna be nice, so the picinic is ON!
WHERE: Pope John Paul II park in Dorchester. http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/metroboston/pjp.htm Meetup in the parking area by the south entrance, and then we stake out one of the picnic shelters.
WHEN: Noonish, Saturday July 11th
WHAT: Picnic lunch and kites. Bring food, bring beverage, bring a kite if you have one. There is a supermarket nearby. I'll be bringing a small gas stove and frypan, and a quantity of burgers, buns and condiments. The park has lots of grass (which might still be soggy from all the rain), some picnic tables and parking. There is no running water in the park, and there are porta-potties up at the other entrance a short walk away.
Bring beverages to share, ice for chilling, food for sharing. Side dishes, main dishes, desserts or whatever. Some paper forks, plastic plates, and napkins would also be useful. But mostly bring your own fun self. If you burn easily, sunscreen is advisable.
The tall ships thing is goign on in boston, so traffin in boston proper is likely to be lousy.
HOW: MBTA: Take the Red Line (Ashmont branch) to Fields Corner. The #20 bus route passes by two of the park's entrances: at Neponset Circle and at Hallet Street.
By Car: Take US-1 South to exit 12, Rt 3A South and merge onto Gallivan Boulevard (MA 203). The entrance is located on Gallivan Boulevard. A second entrance is located on Hallet Street.
Hope to see you all there! | comments: Leave a comment |

So if you're going, whether or not you're looking for someone to stay with, email me or comment :D I'd love to hang with some furs there. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| Hey RI furs.. any of you not going to anthrocon? Couldn't get the time off, too far away, too expensive, or just plain don't wanna?
We non-attending fuzzballs shouldn't miss out on fuzzy fun this weekend. The RI furmeet is still on, but this week with a theme. Come to a meeting of the AA.. the "Anthrocon Avoidance".
Extra treats this time around, for all of you who'll have to listen to everything we missed out on come monday. I'll be bringing my markers and doing a free badge for everyone in attendance. That'd be twenty-someodd bucks at anthrocon. ^_~
So come on out this weekend, guys. Have some fun with the others passing up on the pilgrimage to the Furry Mecca.
Like always, there'll be a reminder come the weekend. | comments: Leave a comment |

| I'm getting later and later with these..
The Warwick Mall Furmeet transpires today at 5pm. We'll be meeting in the food court outside the subway per usual. Come make some new friends, eat some good food and score some free art by Ly. You can't lose. ^_^
Look for a giant sketchbox on the table; that'll be me.
Hope to see you there! | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| Hello! I know this is late in the game to ask, but a good friend of mine from the Boston/Cambridge area is in need of a ride to AnthroCon next weekend.
His previous ride can no longer attend the convention and all other attempts to find him a new ride thus far have failed to pan out. He is willing to take the T, bus or commuter rail to wherever would be the easiest location for you to retrieve him and will pack light and not take up much space. He is also willing to help pay for the cost of gas. In addition, I am willing to say thanks by drawing you a piece of free artwork (examples can be found here) --
This means your ride over to Pittsburgh will not only be cheaper but you get free artwork too, all for a seat of car space! Please comment here or email me at redtavernATgmailDOTcom if you think you can help.
Thanks in advance! | comments: Leave a comment |
| Final reminder:
There will be a zoo meet this Sat 6/27 @ 12:30pm at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT. We will be doing some other stuff after the zoo (Dinner, hanging out, maybe a movie or bowling). All are welcome to attend. If you planning to attend please drop me a private email.
Stragglers are welcome so if you can't confirm you are welcome to just catch us on Saturday. There is some crash space avail on Friday and Saturday nights. Please let me know by Friday if interested.
