So this one is for Writing and Writer Resources. I will add more to it as time allows; right now a big fic project is consuming most of my attention. In spirit of that, let's talk about writing fanfiction!
ETA: My Muse is a real person (best friend, wardrobe consultant, purveyor of inspiration). Just wanted to assure you guys that I don't have multiple personalities or anything.

It’s June, which means it is time for the mid-year overview update! Overviewers, please take a few minutes to update your overviews. (Tip: enlist your flist! Post in your LJ and ask people to take a look at it and suggest new comms or weed out dead ones. Spread the work around, I say!)
As always, this is also the time to surrender overviews you no longer wish to maintain. If you’ve lost interest in the fandom, or had a baby, or are being over-run by Tribbles and just don’t have the time, drop me a comment and let me know.
Surrendered overviews currently up for grabs include Supernatural and Lord of the Rings. Get ‘em while they’re hot, kids.
I’ve also eliminated the “fandoms up for grabs” list that used to live in the Master List post. If there is no overview, consider it up for grabs!
Give a hoot, do an overview.
Fandom Guide to Merlin on Livejournal.
Merlin is a British television show produced for the BBC in 2008. It draws inspiration on Arthurian legends, with a number of quirks and differences - such as Merlin and Arthur being the same age, and Arthur being raised as a Prince of Camelot. Other fan favourites such as Smallville and Doctor Who have been referenced as inspiration for the style of the show, and ultimately Merlin is fresh, fun, highly enjoyable, and slightly silly.
The fandom is still small and young, although it already has quite an enthusiastic fandom following and we hope it will continue to grow with the second series, which begins filming during 2009. Currently, Merlin/Arthur is a highly popular and arguably the dominant pairing in livejournal fandom (and greatly helped along by the presence in canon of the Great Dragon with all it's slash friendly dialogue, and is fondly referred to as the Slash Dragon by fen), and a wide variety of excellent AU stories are becoming one of the hallmarks of the beginning of this fandom.

Riptide
Riptide is a TV show set in King Harbor, Southern California, about the exploits of three private detectives who live and work together on the cabin cruiser which gives the show its name.
It ran from 1984 - 1986, 3 seasons and 56 episodes, and featured our three heroes, Nick Ryder, Cody Allen and Murray Bozinsky solving cases and championing the underdog. The show is at least as much about the friendship and interactions between the three men as it is about the detective aspects (including fast cars, fast boats and fast helicopters).
( This way for hot men, a pink chopper and an orange robot... )
Running from 1993 to 1999, Deep Space Nine was set upon a Space station of the same name, under joint control of the Bajoran Government and the Federation. Defending the wormhole containing the Bajoran Prophets and the way to the Gamma Quadrant, DS9 had a slightly darker theme than the Star Trek shows that came before and after, with a long term arc focussing on the War with the Dominion, and the impacts it had upon the characters.
( I can't wait to get back to Deep Space Nine and see your face when you find out I never existed! )
Based prior to all previous Star Trek shows, Enterprise was the fifth and final TV spin-off based in the Star Trek universe that ran from 2001 to 2005. Set in 2151 after the formation of Starfleet, but before the formation of the Federation, the programme follows the journey of the first Warp 5 starship named Enterprise, and its crew through its exploration of space - the final frontier.
( There are two settings: stun and kill. It would be best not to confuse them )
The story takes place in the world author Terry Goodkind created in his The Sword of Truth fantasy novel series. The three main provinces are Westland, the Midlands and D'Hara. Westland is separated from the Midlands by a magical boundary, which was created to prevent any magic from entering Westland. On the other side of the Midlands is D'Hara, which is ruled by Darken Rahl. The Confessors oversee the welfare of the people of the Midlands.
The first 22 episodes, are loosely tied to the first book of The Sword of Truth series Wizard's First Rule. Some of the stories feature events and characters not encountered in the books, while other loosely adapt events from the book. The story begins after the invasion of Darken Rahl's army into the Midlands. Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan), a Confessor, ventures into Westland in search of a wizard and the Seeker, who has been prophesied to defeat Rahl. Kahlan finds the wizard, Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander (Bruce Spence), and the Seeker, Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), who is forced to accept his destiny. Together, they set off on a journey to seek out Rahl and his minions.
