RP comm, though I suppose one could put up discussion under an OOC heading.

The location, I'm afraid, is something that came of late-night playing with the location entry fields on LJ. It's supposed that the part of space that the new Academy occupies is in geosynchronous above New Zealand. Just very very very far away. Or possibly in another dimension. It's in a state of temporal grace, like most dimensionally transcendental Gallifreyan locales that aren't old Type 40 TARDISES. State, geddit? It was late. Shush. And the city that is being constructed that houses these Academies is called Nova Capitalis. Yes.

The Inevitable Rules And Regs

Violence is permitted here, as long as muns agree on it. You'll find no swotty AVField here. However, beware, time is a little unpredictable in some areas and can eddy. Which means it might eat your projectile or speed up or slow down a fight. Same as an AVField you say? au contraire or, as the Gallifreyans might say, "I NE-ver! Cor, mate, wotchoo take me for?" Or maybe only Drax. Unpredictable time can be played with to just about any result, if one is clever enough.

Continuity is a twitchy thing where the source material is concerned. Poke it the wrong way and you suddenly get two completely different origins for the Daleks and three seperate destructions of Atlantis. Gallifrey apparently had two seperate complete remodellings. Continuity cops for the series have taken a rather Zen approach to it, as a result. I mean, who's going to stick to one line in a Hartnell episode that was contradicted years later in an entire scene in a Baker episode? Not I. However, a few things shall have to remain consistent here.

1. Gallifrey is gone. Damnit. Sucks, but there it is.

2. There are very very few Gallifreyans left, as a result. As a result, anyone wanting to play a Gallifreyan is going to have to go through mod grilling first. Sorry.

3. The concepts posited in New Adventures like Lungbarrow are held as canon, here. Looms and all. What does that mean? Means any surviving Gallifreyans are probably sterile, depending on what part of time they've been plucked from. So, any "descendent of this or that Gallifreyan" is going to, once again, be subject to mod grilling. Beings created from genetic data are a bit of an exception, though.

4. Need more information of the sort you feel your pup ought to know? Wikipedia has a huge amount of Dr. Who info, for both the classic series and the new series. Type in just about anything that confuses you, and it'll give you a screenful. If Wikipedia fails you, feel free to IM the mod.

5. Membership is, as I'm sure you've gathered by now, moderated. Don't worry, though, that does NOT mean this is a clique or a closed community. Please feel free to click the "join" button. However, a few things will get you in faster if the mod doesn't alreay know your pup--things like detailed userinfo on the journal, possibly an entry or two. Lets the poor, somewhat dense mod know who's being dealt with, you see.

6. There is no rule number six!

7. Even though violence is allowed, do try to play nice, IC and OOC. And have fun. Rawr. *insert shaking of tiny fist here.*

8. Any other questions will be willingly answered by the mod. Whether the answers make sense, though, is another matter entirely.
