This was extremely pretty and when [info]three_nails made caps, I couldn't resist making icons! So here they are.

I finally finished watching this with my mom! It was lovely, and I rather enjoyed it. Olivia Wilde Williams (oops) was great as Jane Austen — wonderfully snarky and fun, for the most part. :) It was a bit sad, though. It's too bad, because I think the only reason Jane may have had regrets (at least, according to this movie, which is pretty speculative) was because of money, and taking care of her sister and mother. I don't think it would have been so bad marrying a man who you were very good friends with, even if you didn't love him in that way, except for the risk that you might meet someone that you loved later in life... If only Miss Austen could have lived in today's world — she would probably be one of the richest women ever!

I loved this movie which aired recently on Channel 13 (PBS) in New York City! Olivia Wilde is a wonderful actress with one of the most interesting faces in film today.

I love your icons, too. I snagged #12, 13 and 22 and will credit you in my LJ userpics when I use them! Thank you for sharing.
    Love, max

So pretty! Meming, because my computer crashed and I can't save anything on my temp, lol.

I share your feelings on the movie, too. I thought it was beautiful, though I cried quite a bit. At first, I couldn't really imagine anyone to really personify Austen (I haven't seen Becoming Jane yet), but Olivia really sort of brought me into her world and made me believe that's exactly who she was. ♥

Aw, that's too bad about your computer crashing... But I'm glad you like these. :)

I thought Olivia was a much better Jane than Anne Hathaway was in Becoming Jane. This version seemed to truer to Jane's life and what she might have felt at the time... I highly doubt she was in love with Tom LeFroy...

I don't really think she was in love with him either. I don't know anything about Becoming Jane yet (nor the book it's based on), but I get the feeling from it that it's more of a Hollywood-esque look at her life, if that makes any sense :)

Aw, thank you so much! It is very beautiful. And quite good, too — a believable interpretation of what could have happened. (A lot of speculation, of course, but believable... especially compared to Becoming Jane!) Everyone did a wonderful job. :)

Ohhh! You have done an absolute delightful job of capturing the mood of this film. I like way too many of them, and am saving #s. 2, 3, 8, 24, 28, 31, and 38. :-) You have made me want to watch this again! Please make more, and thank you for sharing them.

Forgive me, but you have slightly mistaken Olivia Williams' name. ;-) Fondness for her talents compels me to impertinance. I hope I have not overstepped my boundaries.

It was quite good although I was disappointed with hte lack of Hugh Bonneville. More stuff with him and JA would have been good. And I'm not sure if I completely liked Jane becoming so snarky and, quite frankly, mean. And finally, it did seem a kinf of pointless exercise. PLeasant enough way to while away a couple of hours though.

One thing I did love were the camera angles- they were beautiful and really creative. Just like your icons ;)

I have to admit, I didn't even know who Hugh Bonneville was supposed to be! But he was excellent in the few scenes he was in. He made you wish that he and Jane did get married — I'm sure it would have been nice married to a friend....

I know what you mean. They did make Jane a little too mean in her snark. It was better than Becoming Jane, though! And it did make sense... I think Jane was stressed by the financial situation, and that was what she regretted most — not being able to care for her mother and sister.

It was a beautiful film, I agree! :)
