Moments in life that amuse me...
Having just gotten home from WUMPSKATE, and the boi just getting out of the bath.

Me: So, now's about the time where you snub me and say, "oiyasumenasai," (jap. "goodnight") and go off to bed, isn't it?
Him: No, it's only 1:40AM. Normally you don't get home until about 2:40AM, or even 3:40AM.
    Me: Oh...??
Him: But wait a moment...I need to write a few things down that I thought of while in the bath.
Me: Most guys don't think when they're in the bath. They wack off.
    Him: ...
Me: Although you thinking about Python (prog. lang.) I guess can be construed as relevent...
    Him: Wah.

    Purse!
Completely forgot to post these last week when I took them. Oops.

Once I put the lining in I'll try to take better, less yellow-y pictures.

Also, the first of my saris arrived over the weekend, and I think I've decided what to do with it. It's this one, and I think I want to do a late 16th century Venetian gown with it. I think the small, repeating pattern in the brocade will work well.

    West Work Weekend
Words are starting to fail where experience and feeling exist. The ceremony we did for the west work was incredibly beautiful, and the experiences we engaged in were unreal. The aftereffects are expansive, more than any words could ever describe. Synchronist, flowing, and surreal are so small and awkward in trying to sum up such divine energy and experience.

The state of the world is one of beauty, in it's dismay. It's a pretty incredible time to be alive, and I have no doubt that I am here at this time to play a part in the transformation occurring. Each individual alive today was chosen and chose to be here for this event. But most are totally unaware.

It's like standing on the sidelines, behind the curtain of a play that everyone in the world is acting and watching at the same time. We're totally convinced this is life, and here I am, (and some others) knowing this isn't it, watching everyone else acting and watching something someone else wrote, and just waiting.. slowly the windows are opening, slowly the walls are rising.. and actually quickly for us, these walls will totally fall down, with a hell of a boom.

And we'll find ourselves surrounded by trees and realize we're all onstage, and writing our own scripts, and our plays will take us wherever we want to go and we are able, right now, to be exactly who we want to be.

In plain English, will she be charged?

Number of times I walked Pete, who I was dogsitting: 6.

Number of things I got done today: ZERO.

It's amazing how not getting anything done can leave you so tired. Either that, or it's the fact that I was up all night with an upset stomach. (Oh, that.)

Hmm. Today's flashback omg help I am running out of entries: Let's go with the post I wrote on Melville's Pierre, a book so bad that critics at the time actually told him to stop writing. ("And then I find out that that's not even the incest the professor was talking about.")

All right: easily skippable Twi-spam. Most of it I wrote last night, which is why there's a difference in enthusiasm between this section and the one below. Again: being up all night sick will do that to you.

TOUR OF TERROR '08! It touched him! IT TOUCHED HIIIIIIM )

I think there's still more linkspam flagged in the Reader, what with the weekend backlog. I just ran out of giddyup. moar linkspam )

    DSL back on!
Yay! Thanks, AT&T. It only took a month and at least 50 phone calls to fix it. Jackasses.

Medicine making me weak and exhausted, but then I can't sleep. What the hell. Feel like picking up a piece of paper is a big deal. Force myself to be up and about, despite the zombie-ness. Ugh, so irritating. I have things to sew!

Thanks to everyone for their lovely and helpful comments. Very encouraging!

Today's idea is a corset club-- was wondering if anyone in the L.A. area would be interested in joining some kind of a sewing thing where we meet maybe once a week [whoever's free], with a big meetup once a month, and work on our corsets.. [or costumes, but the focus is on corsets]. Would need to find a venue-- have a couple of places I could approach, any suggestions are welcome. No fees, unless it's a planned event or whatever such as attending a museum exhibit. Otherwise, you just bring what you're working on and spend the afternoon sewing and comparing techniques/getting advice?

    Any interest? Let me know.
