WTF.
How in the hell do you accept items from people?

Someone sent me a Rainbow Dung earlier (I collect them) and I saw the event. Awesome, I click it. It removes it from my event queue and my "item event log" is empty, but there's no Rainbow Dung in sight.

This has happened to me multiple times. I'm sorry, to the people who keep sending me items, that I'm too retarded to figure out how to accept things. D:

For me, I just click the little icon on the top left, click accept, then it appears in my inventory. Maybe you forgot to click something on accident? Or clicked the wrong thing. Usually I forgot to accept it, so it just sits there until whenever I remember.

If I click the little icon, it just takes me to the "view all events" page. There is no accept button in sight. :/

By reading the post, you would see that I have indeed located the "item event log" and it's always empty when I look at it and an item event pops up. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I've already found the link.

The only thing I can tell you is that you have to go to your Item Event Log. And accept it from there. But you seem to already know that. Otherwise I have no clue what is going on.

Yeah, I go to my item event log every time and nothing is ever there. I'm so confused. D:

I don't know. Have you checked w/ the person who sent you the item to see if they got it back? Do you think maybe its a glitch?

It could be a glitch, I guess. I don't remember what the username was exactly, something like ___defiance with a bunch of underscores. :<

You go to your Item Event Log ( http://www.neopets.com/items/transfer_list.phtml ) in order to accept the item itself. You can see this link from your Inventory where it says "Jump to:"

It's just an awkward interface, so you have to click carefully to get to where you want to go.

First.. you've got your main event log that tells you somebody sent you something. Doesn't mean a thing, don't click there.

When you see that notification, go to your inventory.. in the list of links above your inventory, locate the item event log.

This should give you a table of item events (people giving you stuff) that's pending. Do not click anything until you locate the Accept Column, or the Accept All label. If you do not see a column labeled accept, or a label for accept all, return to your inventory and search for the Item event Log, because you may have ended up in your "normal" event log instead.

Personally I only use accept all. It's just faster/easier.

I think understand the programming/design "logic" that was used to make it this way but none the less, it sucks.

Thing is, every single time I look at my item event log, nothing is ever there.

I will strongly suspect that you're not getting to the list you think you're getting to. If you'd like to work through this puzzle, I should be home from work in about 45 minutes... I can send you something and we can walk through the steps via whatever IM tool suits your fancy till you get the process to work for you.

I'd appreciate the help, yes, thank you! I'm on AIM as gummymouse.

I'm going to the "Item Event Log" as listed in the inventory screen.

Picture Tutorial!

I made a tutorial with pictures:

FIRST STEP: Do not click the event text, click the image that looks like a tambourine next to the event

This will take you to a page that looks like this:

From there, you click the radio button for "ACCEPT" and then you click "process". This will refresh, and it MAY appear as though nothing is in your inventory, at first. But if you click back to your inventory or refresh the page, it will -indeed- be there.

That's how you do it. That's how I do it, and I don't have any issues.

If this doesn't work for you, something is wrong, and contact TNT.

Yeah, after some testing, it worked. I did the exact same steps earlier and a few times before, and I never received anything, so I was miffed. Thanks. :)

Thank you SOOOO much! I've been suffering from the same problem, thinking there was a glitch, and even reporting it to neopets as a possible bug (never got a reply)... and finally here is the explanation of what I was doing wrong... I was not clicking the right place, and then I'd lose the opportunity to accept the item. Thank you!
