Music please? [Dec. 14th, 2007|07:38 pm]

Anyone know where I can find Ordo Funebris "Songs from the Enchanted Garden"?

Also, any recommendations? I've been listening to a lot of the darker pagan music and dark wave but I know there's more out there.

Thank you!

Ordo Funebris - Cantar a la Morte: Fabula Triste [Mar. 15th, 2007|09:26 am]

lostcitadel
Greetings all,

I'm wondering if anyone here has the Ordo Funebris album, Cantar a la Morte: Fabula Triste

And if so, would you be willing to share it?  This album is nowhere to be found, anywhere.  Not even in Europe.  The band broke up in 2003, and they were only around for a year or two.  I have their other album, Songs from the Enchanted Garden, and I'd really love to get their other album, especially for the song Malleus Maleficarum.

Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thanks :)

These guys sound A LOT like Corvus Corax. Does anyone know if they're somehow related, or is it just that this sort of music is a trend in Germany?

Dandelion Wine [Jul. 14th, 2006|02:53 pm]

cailleach_beara
Hi, I noticed a link on an Amazon "Neo-Medieval" list and surfed over to join this community.

I have a fairly broad taste in music (indie, post-rock, shoegazer, goth, etc) but neo-mediaeval, ethereal is my favourite.

I'm from Ireland but presently live in Australia ...and if I can offer a link to a Melbourne band Dandelion Wine

:-)

Greetings and a request for help [Jun. 19th, 2006|06:25 pm]

[Current Location |Frederiksberg, Denmark]
[mood | hopeful]
[music |Schelmish - Pank!]

Greetings,

my name is Jacob and I am from Denmark. This is my first post here and I am posting in order to ask for help.

My wife and I are both becomming very big fans of German mittelalter rock. In fact, so much so that we have decided to go to Germany to see some of our favorite bands in concert, at the Burgfolk festival in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Now, we've tried to figure out if it's possible to buy tickets on-line from a country other than Germany, with little luck. It seems tickets are also availbale at the venue, but we'd rather not go down there and find that it's been sold out.

So, does anyone here know if there are still tickets available and if it's possible to order from outside Germany (and if it is at all necessary to pre-order). Also, if anyone could offer any information as to accomodations in Mülheim an der Ruhr, hotels or something. Any help will be appreciated.

This has likely been mentioned numerous times before, but for those who may not be aware, Equilibrium Music is a wonderful starting point for discovering Medieval/Folk groups, along with numerous other genres. I highly recommend it.

Artesia - Neoclassical / Ethereal Beauty - CD Give Away ! [May. 24th, 2006|04:55 pm]
teknoir

The French label Prikosnovenie is often named the Fairy World label and in fact this label brings us the most extraordinary sounds and voices from all over the world, and beyond!

Prikosnovenie now releases an album of the band Artesia on a new subdivision label entitled Nove. The aim of Nove is to release debut cd's of talented new bands.

Artesia is a new French female duet who comes to us as big surprise, they show obvious great talent! Walking on the roots of bands such as Dark Santuary, Stoa or Arcana, the two sweet sirens use a bed of velvet soft keyboard patterns and romantic violin as base for their odes to the nature, mixed with melancholy, sadness and forlorn daydreams. ‘Hilvern’ could be an ideal accompaniment for the ceremony of retirement of the elves of Lothlorien. Far from mere copies of other Ethereal goth bands, they express sad feelings and solemnity based on deep talent. Romanticism, beautiful enchanting female voices and supreme melancholy are the ingredients of this marvelous gothic opus!

TRACKS:
1 Une nuit en Hilvern
2 L'autre chemin MP3
3 Rencontre avec la Dame
4 La clairière des fées
5 Une ancienne légende
6 Barenton
7 Prière au mortel MP3
8 Les hommes ne se rappellent plus mon nom
9 Eveil et desespoir
10 L'abandonnée

Prikosnovenie and Gothtronic decided to give away 2 copies of this truly unique debut album to the lucky winners that know the correct answer to the questions asked in the lottery section of this website, which are:

What the name of the members of Artesia ?
What the title of the last track of 'Hilvern' ?

Become a member of our mailinglist, and send your correct answer before 26 may 2006 to: raffle@gothtronic.com . Don't forget to mention your postal address. The cd will be sent to your home asap after 26 may 2006.

Also, the winners of the Brainclaw Dead Monsters cd lottery have been announced on the Gothtronicwebsite now.

[x-posted]

Hi there! Hope you don't mind too much if I mention the [info]eurogoth community here - it aims to explore Goth and European culture as well as give practical info about travel and living in Europe from a Goth perspective. The touristy bits and daily life between gigs - sort of a niche community, so to speak, which may be why I am doing most of the posting at the moment! Feel free to join and post about your life as a European Goth - especially now with WGT approaching!

Tarot... [Mar. 29th, 2006|11:08 pm]

lsur
A slightly edited version of a recent post in [info]eurogoth, not especially related to music, but I just noticed 'tarot' on this communities interest list so thought some of you might be interested:

It's an online Museum of Tarot Cards. I just browsed the section on the Visconti pack and was impressed by the background essays. These discuss the origins of what is apparently the oldest set of Tarot designs, dated 1425 - full of late Medieval imagery in the manner of illuminated manuscripts of the period, lots of gold leaf and pictures of the various Virtues and Vices of life!

Anyway, here's the link to the Museum: http://trionfi.com/tarot-playing-cards-museum/

and to an interesting essay on the Visconti-Sforza pack, with some colour pictures: http://it.geocities.com/a_pollett/cards31.htm

Stone Angel.... [Mar. 27th, 2006|09:27 am]

lsur
Stone Angel evolved out of Midwinter in the early 1970s playing live around the East Anglia area of England gaining a strong reputation. They recorded one album that went on to become an underground strange folk legend. The album set relatively traditional folk amongst electric guitar, natural sound effects, medieval melodies and a pervading air of ominous doom. The bleakness of the album prefigured much of the forthcoming dark folk of the post-industrial period in the early 1990s.

I recommend a listen to the clip here, from the album 'Lonely Waters' . Scroll a bit to the track. Slower than some of their tunes it has a more electronic backing than earlier material but the same gloomy atmosphere. For their earlier albums and biography, try here.

Hi there!

Any of you guys know where I can find live videos from Corvus Corax? I'm from Brazil, and I really think they'll never going to play a live set this far. I could only find 2 poor-quality videos on e-mule... Maybe someone could help?!
