As always there was a flurry of entries right before the deadline so we have a fairly good amount of offerings to vote on. I understand from several commenters that Ms. Cassidy wasn't the most interesting of characters and that had an effect on the number of entries, that's certainly fine, I personally think everyone that's more than a cameo on a series is deserving of attention but that's me. Without further ado, on to the voting.

Welcome to Challenge 58! Its been a little while since I've posted and I'm glad to see that we had such a good turn out for the last one.

This week's challenge is focused on the Season 3 episode Mind Games and in particular the late great SA Paula Cassidy. Your offering needs to have her in the icon prominently, ie: so that she's the focus of the icon topic. I'm giving you some screen caps here, but the whole of the episode has been screen-capped and is available for your needs.

Sorry this is up late - RL exploded on me. Because of that, I'm giving you a little extra time for the challenge

In honor of the new season starting, the theme for this challenge is the two hour Season 5 finale. You can use any images you like, just please try not to make them spoilerous in case there are members that have not yet had an opportunity to see the episode.

If you have trouble finding images, let me know and I'll help you out.

Sorry about banners, they will be done this week. As I only have a 2 hour lecture on Wednesday so I'll get them done then. Otherwise I've been leaving to get to college at 7:15 and not coming home til gone 6 in the evening. So I'm very tired! And I walked 6 miles just to save me some money. Stupid idea. Anyway onto the challenge. I saw one image and fell in love with the photoshoot so here is the photoshoot by Mark Horowitz. I've uploaded the NCIS related images.

Last call for Challenge 55

I was hoping I wouldn't have to post again like this asking for people to participate in these challenges. There are at present count 90 people in this community and as of my writing this there have been four (4) entrants for this week. I purposefully made the challenge dirt simple, you could post a blank 100x100 pixel icon with the rule typed in with any font you wished to enter. I have to admit that I'm getting a little bothered with the poor turnouts, I keep asking myself why am I making the effort if hardly anyone else wishes to?

If it makes sense for the challenges to be longer, I suppose that could be done but honestly, we're giving you the better part of a week to get your entries in, I certainly believe that's more than enough time no matter how busy your schedule is.

I'd certainly like to see more participation if you all can swing it, the more that people enter, we get to see the genius that you all possess in making icons, there are some really great talents out there.

So if you can find the time to enter, please do so before tomorrow, thanks.

Challenge 55

This week's challenge is based on Gibbs' "Rules". We all know that LJ Gibbs supposedly has 50 rules that have never been written down anywhere, that he believes its his 'duty' to drill them into his subordinates during the course of the time that they spend with him working, and (to date) nowhere near all 50 of The Rules have been revealed in 5 seasons of the show. Even so, there's a bone of contention about the numbering of the rules, since there are already two #1's (Never let suspects stay together; Never screw over your partner) and two #3's (Don't believe what you're told, double-check; Never be unreachable).

That having been said, here's the criteria for the challenge. You can use any image you wish from NCIS up to Season 4, as I believe there are still folks from around the planet that haven't seen all of Season 5, or you can use no image at all, just the text from the Rule you choose. You can combine images, you can do anything you wish to the image (or lack of same) EXCEPT make it animated, so the sky is the limit for your options, keeping in mind it has to be static. I have a repository of images on my own web server if you wish to go hunting, I'm more than happy to share them with you for your needs. I made a text file of the Rules, in case you have a hard time finding them elsewhere. I made a point to put the episode # and title with it so it would make things easier if you wanted specific screencaps.

So, to recap;
• You can use any image you wish, or no image at all, just text (the text of the rule has to be on the icon somewhere).
• No animation.
• Blending, text, brushes, combining images, etc. are allowed.
• You can enter up to three icons.
• You have until Saturday, 13 September to enter.
